Chapter 339
After bidding Karen farewell, Elysia swiftly arrived at another place.

This new realm was nothing like the pure white space she had just left. Instead, it was designed to be dark, oppressive, and eerily reminiscent of hell, with various torture instruments scattered around.
As soon as she arrived, a terrifying, hoarse scream echoed from afar. It was unmistakable—the voice of her long–lost “father.”
It was Rupert Drayton
The surname that had once afforded him unimaginable luxury and supreme glory was now the mark of his downfall. He had destroyed everything with his own hands, and now, from his once exalted position, Rupert had fallen to the point where he was nothing more than a pariah, despised by
all.
“Let me die… Let me die…” Rupert screamed, bound and helpless.
Nearby, a barbed whip seemed almost sentient, lashing out at him on its own, drawing blood with each strike. It was a cruel form of punishment— one that should have made him pass out long ago.
Yet, Elysia hadn’t anticipated that Melissa had programmed a reboot function.
Every time Rupert lost consciousness and returned to reality, she would pull him back, unscathed.
This endless cycle of torment had driven Rupert to the brink of madness.
By the time Elysia stood before him, he was too broken to even register her presence. It wasn’t until the whipping stopped and the ropes binding
him were removed that he realized she was there.
“Elysia… you came…” he muttered, his voice filled with disbelief.
“Do you want to die that badly?” Elysia interrupted, her words emotionless, but Rupert couldn’t help but hear a trace of mockery in them.
By this point, he had no energy for anger–only deep, consuming shame. If it weren’t for his own reckless mistakes, he could have been… but there was no point in dwelling on “what–ifs.” Everything was his fault.
Rupert lowered his head, his body collapsing in surrender. His legs buckled, and he collapsed to the cold, hard ground like a puddle of mud.
“Elysia… kill me, please. I beg you,” he whispered, his voice trembling with desperation.
Tears streamed down his face as he pleaded, no longer fearful of death but longing for release. He had given up all hope, and the only thing left was the desire for escape.
But Elysia shook her head.
“I won’t kill you. Go back,” she said, her tone flat, devoid of any sympathy.
She had intended to send him back to reality like she had done before, but Rupert was faster than her.
“And what about you?” he asked, his voice laced with a raw, unexpected vulnerability.
Elysia hesitated. ‘What about me? Perhaps if I stayed here long enough, I could eventually rekindle the emotions that once existed between them. But even I wasn’t sure of that.
“Shall we go back together?” Rupert asked, his face wrinkling with the faintest hope. He didn’t know why Elysia was here, or how she could control this place.
But as soon as he heard the possibility of leaving, his first instinct was to ask, “What about her? Where would she go? Would she stay here? Would she vanish once they returned to reality, never to recognize him again?”
He feared the latter. Rupert’s chaotic mind suddenly cleared. He crawled to Elysia’s feet, his voice breaking with regret and need.
“I’ve been paying for my sins here, Elysia… please, forgive me. I have nothing left. Only you. Star… can we go home? Please…”
Rupert had become the tragic figure the media often portrayed–the elderly man who had lost everything. He had no wealth, no family, no purpose. Only Elysia, his daughter, remained.
Elysia remained silent, her absence of response only deepening Rupert’s anxiety. He grasped her ankles desperately, tears flooding his eyes.

Chapter 339
“I know I was wrong, Elysia… I’ll do anything for you, anything. Please don’t send me away. I’ll serve you for the rest of my life–just let me stay by your side, please.”
This was the most pathetic Elysia had ever seen Rupert. But even now, she felt no pity. Her silence wasn’t an expression of anger—it was just her contemplating whether to reveal the truth to him: that she wasn’t really his daughter.
But at this point, what difference would it make?
Elysia glanced down at his fading figure, her thoughts drifting for a moment before she turned and left.
In the real world, a nurse, while disconnecting the ventilator and other equipment, sighed from the depths of her soul.
“Finally, I don’t have to care for this old man anymore. His card’s empty, and he still wants to lie in bed forever? Dream on.”
But just as the words left her mouth, Rupert suddenly jolted awake, his frail body sitting up in a shock.
“Elysia…” Rupert cried, his voice hoarse as he looked around in confusion. He was unrecognizable now–old beyond belief, with a scraggly beard and silvery hair.
Anyone who didn’t know better would mistake him for a homeless man. “He… He’s awake… He’s awake… Go now. Just leave.”
“You still think you’re Elysia’s father?” the nurse scoffed.
It was clear she didn’t recognize the former Stoneford tycoon who stood before her.
Rupert, still dazed, didn’t fully grasp the situation until he overheard the nurse’s words.
“Speaking of Elysia… she was so young… 23… and then just like that, she took her own life… Poor thing, just when life was about to get good…” the nurse lamented. “Wait, why are you grabbing my arm?”
“What? Who–who committed suicide?” Rupert’s eyes widened in disbelief, his mind struggling to piece things together.
The nurse struggled to break free. “Elysia… the one who streamed her memories, don’t you know? If you don’t let go of me, I’ll—”
Before she could finish, her body went limp, her strength leaving her.
If Elysia was dead, then who was he seeing right now? If she was truly gone… he had lost everything–his money, his status, his family.
“Wait… you… you look familiar…” the nurse murmured, scratching her chin as noises began to erupt outside.
“That’s him. Rupert is definitely in here. I saw him being brought in!” A crowd of people burst into the room, and the leader of the group grabbed Rupert’s hair, pulling his face into full view.
“That’s him. He’s the reason our goddess killed herself. Beat him to death.”
The group wasted no time, and Rupert’s fate was sealed. The life he had once enjoyed, the wealth, the fame–everything was gone. His future would now consist of wandering, nameless, and lost.
And perhaps one day, when the loneliness became unbearable, he would follow Elysia’s path, choosing to leave the world just as she had.
