Alpha Kodak’s POV
I watched as Alpha Jephthah exited the door, and only then did I release my grip on Lovette. I never expected one of her exes to show up, but it did happen, and I couldn’t understand the level of fear in my heart.
It was so thick as if I was going to lose her soon or share her with someone else. This seemed to be a warning of something I couldn’t quite grasp.
“Luna, I have to drive him back to his car at the gate, Cassius’s voice echoed in my thoughts, and Lovette nodded her head.
It was a good thing she didn’t allow Alpha Jephthah to drive into her pack, meaning that the pack members had not seen him.
This way, no doubt or confusion would be formed in their minds. I slowly began to appreciate the power of a strong woman but did not feel the need for one.
Luna Lovente was a thinker, so before you act, she would have already thought it through. Such wisdom was both an asset and a weakness, as most men would find her intimidating
“Don’t you think the wedding should be strictly by invitation, Luna?” Embry asked after Cassius left. I was about to answer when she added, “He might cause trouble”
Just like Zeeva, I knew Alpha Jephthah would not give up easily. “Cause trouble? He should try it if he wants to meet his end” I said firmly, meaning every word. However, as I looked at Lovette, she appeared weary.
About to head upstairs, I hurriedly picked her up, knowing it was inappropriate but unsure of my motives.
“Put me down, she demanded sternly, and though I intended to comply, I found myself unable to do so,
Glancing at Embry and noticing her smile, my guilt dissipated, and I proceeded up the stairs
“You’ll fall if you keep squirming, and you know the consequences,” I wamed. Our shared ke for our packs and pups was the only common ground between us.
“I need to speak to Embry.” Lovette insisted, and I sensed she was fabricating a reason for me to release her. Turning to Embry, I prompted her,
Tell her whatever you need to.”
1 watched as she gritted her teeth while giving instructions. “Please make sure mom and dad have had breakfast and have everything they need for comfon”

my parents and her referring to them as mom and dad touched me, and I wondered how things would be after the divorce. Why did the moon goddess have to complicate things for us? I was about to seule Luna Lovette on the bed after carrying her to her room, but she refused.
“I want to shower first. So put me down. Since the shower room was nearby, I carried hek there directly.
“What are you doing?” I saw her face turn red, and I instantly guessed the naughty thoughts ninning through her mind,
After some consideration, I decided to tease her a bit. “You said you want to shower. I can do that for you.”
Her cheeks turned scarlet as she tried to wiggle out of my arms.
If anything, she might just fall into the jacuzzi. “You’re crazy. Let me go,” she yelled, but I just smirked.
“Irs not like you haven’t seen me naked before. If you move, I might see you naked too, I teased her further, Intrigued by the look in her eyes.
It was hard to believe she was a Luna at a moment like this, seeing how shy she became in my arms, attempting to cover her face with her hand. However, as if awakened from a dream, she lowered her gaze, revealing the coldness in her eyes. This sudden change brought me hack to reality. “Just kidding,” I quickly added.
Tight her shower room, pondering why I had made such a joke with her, something I had never done with Zeeva
Not having showered yet, I refrained from lying on the bed out of respect for her.
I noticed that she changed her sheets daily, prompting me to consider doing the same when she visited.
Feeling weary, I beaded to the shower in one of the guest room. I still had some of the clothes Cassius had given me on my first visit, so I retrieved them from her room just as she emerged from the shower.

It’s worth noting that I was only wearing a towel around my waist, while she had a towel wrapped around her midsection.
“Have you showered?” She seemed surprised to see me that way, and once again, her checks reddened.
It was strange how she became shy around me, despite being in a series of relationships. I had only dated Zeeva, and it was understandable that I wanted to wait
As for Luna Lovette, I couldn’t quite figure her out. “You knew I’d be here, so you shouldn’t have come out in a towel,” I blamed her, seeing her face Turn scarlet
Women had tried to seduce me in many ways without success, but Lovette managed to do so effortlessly,
Without makeup and with her hair damp, drops of water glistening on her shoulders, I felt a sudden urge to lick her dry
“I don’t have clothes in the shower. Did you expect me to wear the same dress as before?” Her question snapped me out of my trance.

I had never felt this way with any woman, not even the naked ones during shifts. Those times were understood to be moments of war, so such thoughts were not entertained

Oh, so it wasn’t as if she wanted to seduce me or anything. She just came out like that because she thought I had left. I waited for her to emerge from her closet, which she did after a few minutes in her pajamas.
“You look like you’re ready to hibernate,” I teased, and she shook her head as I rummaged through her closet to pick out a casual outfit.
“I don’t plan on sleeping for more than two hours,” she replied, lying down on the bed.
Her every movement was graceful, and I couldn’t help but wonder why she captivated my attention so effortlessly. I blamed only one person for this distraction – my pup,
I lay down beside her, wrapping my arms around her from behind. She tensed, as if about to bark, but relaxed when I whispered,
“Relax, it’s just more comfortable for us to sleep this way. Her breathing evened out, and I drifted off to sleep once more. I was roused from my slumber by a knock on the door.
Assuming it was Beta Caius, I got up to answer it, but to my surprise, it wasn’t him. The knock also seemed to have woken Lovette, who inquired. “Who is it?” I hesitated, unsure of how to respond.
