“I don’t care if that’s the case, Camila said. “I just don’t have the energy for anything else right now. All I want is to make money and pay for my grandma’s treatment.”
Jasmin waved it off. “Alright, alright. Nothing’s hotter than a girl who swaps dating drama for her career.”
“Yeah, let’s talk later. Im just getting to the building,” Camila said. But the second she looked up and spotted Noel standing beside his car, her voice filtered. She quickly pretended not to see him and walked straight ahead

The call was still connected, and the second Jasmin heard his voice, she practically burst through the speaker. “Wait, was that Noel! That jerk’s not actually there trying to win you back, is he?”
Camila answered, “I don’t think so.”
Seeing her deliberately ignore him set Noel off. His chest tightened with fury as he stormed forward, snatched the phone from her hand, and ended the call without a word.
His eyes were ice–cold as he glared at her. “Camila, I’ve seriously been too damn nice to you lately. You think you can just pretend I don’t exist?
Camila stared at him blankly. “Mr. Anderson, can I help you with something”
The icy and detached look in her eyes hit Noel like a punch to the gut. He felt something slipping away from him fast, and for some reason, panic

Noel snorted. “Oh please. You’ve said that so many times, but when have you ever actually meant it! That whole hard to get game might’ve worked the first time, but it’s getting old.”
Caimili snerred. “To not playing games with you, I gave you the ring back. I said everything that needed to be said. A good ex should act like they’re dead hope you can manage dat much”
Noel scoffed in disbelief, ‘Oh, so that’s how it is? Fine.” He nodded slowly, tongue pushing against the inside of his cheek, voice turning mean “Even

“You think I’m joking?” Camila shot back,
“Fine. You’ve got guts, Camila Noel grumbled, tossing out those words like a curse before storming off to his car.
Camila watched his car disappear down the street, then let out a quiet sigh and picked up her phone from the pavement.
Later that evening, Jasmin came home from work, and after hearing about Camila’s day, she was practically fuming
She launched into a full–on rant, tearing Noel apart before eyeing Camila worriedly. “He’s been acting like some rage–fueled psycho lately. I’m seriously scared he might hit you one day”
