He quickly called back only to find out that the phone had been switched off

Caleb was dumbfounded. His plan had seemed perfect just moments ago, he hadn’t expected it to fall apart so suddenly.
“Gabrielle. you will regret this” said Caleb in a boarse voice.
No sooner had his words fallen than he felt a vague, intense pain coursing through his body. His phone subsequently slipped from his grasp clattering to the side. He crumpled into a ball lening out a muffled grunt.
Images of Chloe kept surfacing in his mind, picturing her slowly shedding her coat to reveal a seductive camisole, then gradually lifting her long legs
She extended her leg toward him, continuously rubbing it against his thigh as she leaned in closer to him
“Caleb,” she called out sweetly, her fingertips gently teasing his chin as they leisurely traced a path downward.
Taken aback, Caleb found himself held down by her. Her soft body pressed against his, and they ended up closely entwined Their clothes were scattered all over the ground.
His. Caleb gave a deep, stifled grunt.
Images flooded his mind burning themselves into his memory like a brand. No matter how hard he tried to shake them, he couldn’t escape–Chloe’s figure was everywhere, haunting every corner of his thoughts
In the throes of agony. Caleb tilted his head back. After a moment, his dark eyes turned a startling crimson, the light within them dimmed, and the images that plagued his mind vanished
He quickly checked his phone before driving back to his apartment.
In contrast to Caleb’s explosive temper, Gabrielle was much more composed
She glanced at the time, realizing it was already four in the moming. Having gone to bed early the previous night, the found herself feeling quite refreshed. So, she simply decided to get up, head downstairs, and go for a morning run.
“Mrs. Zechman.” The bodyguard was taken aback when he saw her.
When Gabrielle saw the bewildered expression on the bodyguard’s face, she pointed outside and said. “I’m going for a run”
“Okay.” The bodyguard promptly stepped aside.
Upon seeing Gabrielle running around the back courtyard, no one dared to approach.
She herself had never realized just how expansive the Zechman residence truly was. Each time she returned, she barely did more than eat and sleep. It wasn’t until she started her morning runs that she discovered–the entire backyard was practically the size of a botanical garden.
The path was immaculately kept, with the flowers and plants on both sides perfectly pruned. The adjacent courtyard was a riot of blooming flowers, while a garden up ahead was filled with all sorts of medicinal herbs
She jogged along, bypassing the backyard, only to be greeted by a picturesque scene of a small bridge over a flowing stream Beyond the artificial hill was a pond! Veils of mist lazily hovered above the water, giving the scene an ethereal glow under the dim light of the early morning. It felt as though she had inadvertently stepped back in time.
She spent a good hour and a half jogging around the entire mansion before she finally found herself back where she started.
“Good morning, Mrs. Zechman When Charles woke up and saw her wiping off sweat as she returned, he paused in surprise Quickly stepping forward, he asked, “Have you been out?”
“No, I just went for a run,” she said
Charles glanced at the clock and asked. “Would you like me to prepare some breakfast for you, Mrs. Zechman! What would

She looked around the kitchen, noticing the neatly arranged utensils and the fridge stocked with everything she could need She grabbed tomatoes, lettuce, beef, garlic, and parsley.
After prepping the ingredients, she started by making a savory soup base with beef and tomatoes. Once that was simmering. she added pasta and a handful of greens.
As it neared completion, she tossed in a few raw oysters and a couple of shrimp to finish the dish”
The aroma wafted continuously through the kitchen, causing Gabrielle’s stomach to grumble involuntarily. She grabbed a bowl from the side and served the pasta, only to realize she had cooked too much
Sensing someone drawing closer to her, and Gabrielle quietly asked. “Would you like something to eat?”
“Sure.” Jonathan’s voice rang out, low and husky,
Gabrielle was taken aback for a moment. Upon turning around, she saw Jonathan, immaculately dressed, having already entered the kitchen at some point unnoticed. The surprise in her eyes was almost palpable when she saw him.
| “I thought it was Charles,” Gabrielle said, bemused.
Glancing at the time, it was just a little past six and astonishingly. Jonathan was already out of bed.
“What, none for me?” Jonathan’s voice was husky as he strode toward her. His towering figure stood behind her. peering down at the seafood and beef pasta in her pot.
It was clear that she had cooked too much.
When Gabrielle saw him drawing near, she froze. A faint scent of fresh mint wafted from him, mingling with the herbal aroma that clung to his body. It was unexpectedly pleasant.
“Help yourself if you’re hungry, Gabrielle said as she picked up her bowl and walked away.
Seeing the situation, Jonathan picked up a clean bowl, filled it himself, and carried it out.
The two of them were seated at the dining table, quietly enjoying their meal. Jonathan was surprised to find out that she could actually cook. He looked at her, somewhat taken aback, and asked, “Did you often cook in the past?”
As Gabrielle was eating, she spoke without even lifting her head. “I grew up in the mountains. If I didn’t cook for myself, I would have starved. I had to prepare meals for my mentor every day
It was rare for Jonathan to hear her speak of her past.
After a long silence, he said to her, “Your mentor has trained you well.”
He didn’t expect Gabrielle to laugh. She proudly said, “Certainly!”
Upon seeing her face brimming with confidence, Jonathan’s mood significantly improved. He spoke in a deep voice. “After we finish recording the variety show, how about we visit your mentor up the mountain? I wonder if he knows about our marriage!”
Gabrielle put down her utensils and wiped her mouth.
“My mentor knows fortune–telling, do you think he’s aware?” Gabrielle blinked at him before rising to her feet, bowl in hand, and heading back to the kitchen.
Jonathan watched her silhouette thoughtfully, sinking into deep contemplation.
In reality, when the people from the Seavers family came looking for her, her mentor had already told her that it was time for her to leave the mountains. He had also warned her about a predestined calamity in her life, which necessitated her
return to Drocver.
In her previous life, did her mentor know that every decision she made after leaving the mountain would ultimately lead to her downfall?

“Mrs. Zechman, leave the dishes, I’ll wash them” Charles hurriedly walked in.

The thought of her making breakfast herself had already left him in a cold sweat, and now she was washing dishes too? This simply wasn’t right. After all, she was the young mistress,
“It’s all right, I’ve cleaned up. Gabrielle said, glancing at the pot of pasta. “I made too much breakfast earlier. If you don’t mind Charles, would you like to have some!”
Charles was somewhat taken aback, yet he promptly filled a bowl.
After finishing the pasta she had prepared, he found himself lost deep in thought, experiencing an unprecedented pressure Her culinary skills were exceptional, implying that they would have to constantly elevate their game, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to keep up.
At half past seven. Gabrielle headed to the airport by car.
She carried with her only a backpack and a suitcase, travelling light as always.
“It’s Gabrielle, it’s Gabrielle Suddenly, someone cheered enthusiastically
Gabrielle, lugging her luggage, was heading toward the airport when she turned her head in surprise. She saw a horde of people, dark and pressing, rushing toward her, posters in their hands.
She fell quiet.
“Gabrielle At last, I see you in person. You are truly beautiful without makeup.”
“Gabrielle, when did you create your account? Could you possibly make an account to share some of your daily life?”
“Deity, Deity, can you read fortunes! I beseech you on my knees for a reading.
They kept approaching but despite the lack of bodyguards to stop them, they maintained a respectful distance, as if afraid of startling her.
