The internet went wild in an instant. Some people even called up insurance companies, digging for information.

Chloe had no idea any of that was happening. But the second she spotted the cameraman trailing her, her heart sank. It was over. Even without solid proof, just the rumors alone would be enough to wreck her reputation.
She stared daggers at the representatives from the insurance company, her resentment burning so hot it felt like she could incinerate them on the spot.
“So you filed a false police report?” one of the officers asked, stepping forward with a stern expression.
Benjamin quickly stepped in front of Chloe, trying to shield her from what was coming. He started to say something, but when he saw the officer pull out a pair of handcuffs, he fell silent.
Chloe panicked, shrinking back as she whispered in a trembling voice, “It wasn’t me. Someone else must’ve used my phone to
make that call.
honestly don’t know anything about accident insurance; she added quickly, desperate to distance herself from it all.
Seeing how things were spiraling. Benjamin clenched his jaw and said quietly. The deceased was a junior employee at Seavers Group. We’ve always provided insurance for our staff. I was the one who made the call.”
Hearing that, Chloe lowered her head as tears streamed down her face without stopping.
The officer scoffed and pulled out a short video clip, pushing it toward them. “This was from a livestream. She’s the one who made the call. What, you thought you could lie to the police?”
Chloe stared blankly at the screen, watching her phone call being played back. Her knees nearly gave out. “But the cameraman wasn’t with me at the time, and we weren’t streaming. How was that even recorded?” she muttered, clearly
shaken.
She had assumed that without the cameraman following her around, no one would know what she was doing.
What she didn’t realize was that the whole island was rigged with hidden cameras. Everything had been streamed. Her reputation had already been torn to shreds, and her public image lay in ruins.
What are you all doing just standing here? Why aren’t you going downstairs?” Gabrielle’s voice rang out, sounding genuinely. confused.
Chloe’s whole body tensed. She spun around slowly, unable to believe her eyes, Gabrielle was walking toward her at a relaxed pact, dressed in black high–waisted pants and a crisp white shirt that gave off an effortlessly cool vibe.
Chloe staggered back in horror, her face pale. “Y–You’re supposed to be dead!” she gasped.
“So that’s what you were hoping for?” Gabrielle replied, a faint smile on her lips. “You even took out an accident insurance policy in my name. Funny though–I don’t remember Seavers Group offering policies like that for employees.”
She added, “And I’ve never even heard about this supposed policy! Ms. Seavers, were you in such a rush to call the insurance company because you invited me to the beach last night… intending to push me into the ocean?”
Chloe froze, completely rattled. She turned to run, but the police quickly stepped in, blocking her path. “Everyone needs to come with us to the station to give a statement. Thank you,” the officer said as he guided them toward the police vehicle.
At the station, Ryan was immediately detained after giving his statement.
He had been at the beach the night before. After drugging Gabrielle with some kind of medicine, he’d shoved her into the sea and held her under. It was all caught in graphic detail on camera.
Ryan was stunned, unable to believe what he was hearing. “How could there have been a livestream in the middle of the night? No, officer–this has nothing to do with me,” he insisted, confused and desperate.
Just then, Jennifer showed up.

added, her eyes reddening.
She had almost been responsible for Gabrielle’s death.

Meanwhile, the cameraman followed the entire process, practically buzzing with excitement. With permission from the station, he continued streaming everything live.
The buzz was unreal. Their variety show was now the most talked–about program. Even though it had only been airing for two days, it had already become a trending phenomenon.
“What nonsense are you spouting?” Ryan snapped.
He never saw it coming–Jennifer turning on him like that. He’d thought she was under his thumb, which was why he’d dared to go so far.
“I didn’t say this before, but I recorded our entire conversation when he asked to meet, Jennifer continued, handing over her phone to the officer. “And I have reason to believe this isn’t the first time he’s done something like this.
The officer took the recording and nodded. “We’ll look further into it.”
Jennifer, you traitor! You set me up!” Ryan exploded, trying to lunge at her, but the officers held him back.
He looked around frantically, hoping to see Chloe. But she and Benjamin were gone. “Officer, I need to talk to Chloe,” he said. his voice urgent.
But the police slapped handcuffs on him.
“Gabrielle survived, didn’t she? We were just playing around last night. You can’t arrest me for that!” Ryan shouted, struggling, but it was no use. They took him away.
Once they finished giving their statements, Nadia and Brendan quickly joined Gabrielle.
“You’re amazing, Gabby. You knew they’d reveal themselves today, so you didn’t show up after going home last night. And this morning, you boarded the boat before they did,” Nadia said. “I didn’t think they’d actually try to kill you. But technically, Chloe didn’t commit a crime since you’re fine.”
A faint smile curved Gabrielle’s lips as she gently ruffled Nadia’s hair.
“Even if something had happened, the Seavers family would’ve covered for her,” Gabrielle said coldly. “And I don’t plan to go. after her just yet.”
In her previous life, she had been pushed so far that she fell into depression and was eventually driven to jump off a building. Chloe had orchestrated it all. Gabrielle wasn’t about to let her off easy. She was going to make her pay, slowly and painfully ruining her so completely that she’d long for death but wouldn’t be able to escape it.
Just handing her over to the authorities now would be letting her off too easily.
What Chloe valued most was her reputation, so that was exactly what Gabrielle would destroy.
“Gabrielle, I’m sorry,” Jennifer said, standing awkwardly.
After hearing everything Jennifer had to say, Gabrielle went to meet with Ryan. She then faked her own fall into the sea and swam back to shore after he left. When Nadia and Brendan arrived, they quickly decided to bluff it out.
They kept Team A distracted all morning, giving Gabrielle time to board the boat early. That misdirection led Chloe to think. Gabrielle was really dead, prompting her to call the insurance company.
“No need to apologize, Gabrielle said softly. “Right now, the important thing is, how about we grab a bite before heading back? We’re already out.
“I know a place that does great barbecue, Brendan chimed in.
“Let’s go, Nadia added without missing a beat.
