Chapter 13 He Installed A Tracker In Her Phone
Upon hearing his words, Chloe finally managed to smile through her tears.
“Thanks, Caleb, you’re the best!” Chloe said affectionately.
Caleb was thoroughly charmed by her, his irritation from earlier completely forgotten. He said, “Don’t fuss over such a trivial matter. We have a variety show to participate in tomorrow. You should get some rest.”
“Alright, I’m hanging up now,” said Chloe, decisively ending the call.
Meanwhile, Caleb sat in the car, the grip on his phone tight. The icy gaze of Gabrielle kept surfacing in his mind, making him feel somewhat agitated as he rubbed his forehead.
“She must be playing hard to get. Her indifference earlier is nothing but an act!” Caleb exclaimed, comforted by the thought. “I don’t even resent her for being a married woman; what right does she have to look down on me for being an illegitimate child?” With that, he hastily drove off.
Within the alleyway, Gabrielle had slipped away amidst the chaos. Watching Caleb being pelted with objects gave her a great sense of smug satisfaction.
She hailed a taxi, carrying her purchases as she slid into the backseat. She glanced out at the night through the window, her eyes slightly squinted. In a low voice, she wondered, “How did he manage to locate me out of nowhere? Moreover, I just stepped out for a bit of shopping.”
A flicker of confusion flashed in Gabrielle’s eyes. Despite her doubts, she immediately keyed in a string of code into her phone.
On her screen, a red exclamation point was flashing. When she saw the resulting app. a chill flashed in her eyes. She hadn’t expected Caleb to have installed a tracking app on her phone.
“Heh.” She let out a snigger.
She remembered one instance when Caleb had borrowed her phone to make a call. She had been busy at the time, so she simply handed him the phone.
She guessed that he must have installed the tracking app on her phone the time he had it.
It was a common occurrence for someone to borrow a phone to make a call, so she didn’t think there was any risk. Little did she know, the A–list, Caleb, would actually something so outrageous.
She initially wanted to uninstall the tracking app, but after some thought, an idea formed in her mind.
Instead of uninstalling it, she could exploit the app in reverse, hacking Caleb’s phone via a virus. Everything stored within it would then be cloned.

Her gaze was fixed on the WhatsApp conversation box on her screen, her fingertips tapping to open it.
Upon seeing a new message from Chloe, she opened the chat box, only to find a lovey–dovey conversation. Her pupils contracted slightly, scrolling upward in disbelief.
“So, Chloe has been trying to use me to get close to Caleb, leading him to believe that I am madly in love with him? She even told him behind my back that I have a crush on him?” Gabrielle was dumbfounded by what she saw.
Previously, it was Chloe who had convinced me that Caleb was interested in me. At the same time, she was also telling Caleb that I have feelings for him. She was playing both sides, leading me to believe there is a chance between me and Caleb. However, Caleb saw me as nothing more than a simp, although I admit I did have a slight interest in him before. This was also how I ended up getting manipulated by him, and one of the reasons I ended up with depression.
With these thoughts in mind, she quickly took a screenshot of their chat history and saved it. She then uploaded it to the cloud and her email for safekeeping. Once she was done, the car had just pulled up outside the Zechman residence.
She returned to the room, carrying the items she bought.
That was when she discovered two pieces of dessert and a glass of milk on the table.
Gabrielle stared at the items, not knowing what to feel. She picked up the glass of milk and gave it a sniff, only after confirming that there was no issue, she prepared to drink it.
Right then, a knock echoed from outside the door.
“Who is it?” Gabrielle quickly put down her water glass and rose to answer the door.
Charles was standing anxiously outside. When he saw her, he was overjoyed. It was if he had seen his savior. He said, “Mrs. Zechman, you’re back! Mr. Zechman just taken the medicinal bath and suddenly vomited blood.”
“Let me take a look,” Gabrielle said, rising to her feet and heading outside.
She took a quick look around before opening the door to Jonathan’s room. Charles hurriedly followed her, watching as she walked straight into the bathroom.
“Mrs. Zechman-” Charles hurriedly caught up, intending to stop her.
However, his mouth was swiftly covered by Keiran who proceeded to drag him out, all the while saying, “You’ve already addressed her as Mrs. Zechman, so what’s the issue with her entering the bathroom?”
“Right, right, I totally forgot about that.” Charles was taken aback by Keiran’s words.
It was only then that he realized that after the bride price was paid and Gabrielle had moved into the

Inside the bathroom, a thick mist filled the air.
Gabrielle stepped in, her gaze landing on Jonathan’s towering figure inside the bathtub. The contours of his figure accentuated his perfect physique, while his strong and muscular arms were casually resting on the tub’s edge.
She stepped forward, lightly touching the side of his neck with her hand.
“Who is it?” Jonathan’s voice, husky and low, echoed to break the silence. He swiftly seized her wrist in
response.
Gabrielle then felt a forceful tug from him and was thrown half a step forward. However, she steadied herself by pressing her hand on one side.
She tilted her head, her hair cascading down as she locked eyes with Jonathan.
The latter froze the moment their eyes met. Seeing her wrist in his grip, he quickly let go, reaching for a nearby towel to cover his body.
“What are you doing here?” Jonathan’s handsome brows furrowed in concern as he cast her a wary glance.
Jonathan exuded an icy aura, his authoritative demeanor palpable. In fact, it was so overwhelming that his presence would suffocate anyone, yet Gabrielle seemed unaffected by it.
“Charles mentioned earlier that you vomited blood, so I came to check on you,” Gabrielle said nonchalantly.
She reached out, pressing her fingers against the side of his neck to feel his pulse. After that, her fingertips conveniently grazed the side of his thin lips, gently dabbing at the fresh blood that trickled from the corner of his mouth. She then rubbed the blood between her fingers.
“Over the years, you’ve taken quite a number of medicines. After consumption, these drugs metabolize within your body, accumulating inside your body and circulating within your blood flow. Remember, all medicines carry a degree of toxicity, and excessive intake can harm your health. After soaking in the medicinal bath, the toxins within your body fused together, which was why you were coughing up blood. So, from today onwards, aside from the bath, don’t consume any other medicine. It won’t do any good,” Gabrielle said in a low voice.
She stood before the bathtub, casting her gaze downward to inspect its contents. She then gently scooped up some medicinal herbs from within, examining them closely.
Jonathan was seated in the bathtub, his towering figure frozen. He watched as her beautiful fingers traced patterns on the water’s surface, while her gaze was fixed on the water. He could only gulp in response.
His chiseled fingers gripped the edge of the bathtub tightly, and after a long pause, he replied in a raspy voice, “Understood.”

suddenly placing her hand on his shoulder.
Her lovely fingers danced across Jonathan’s shoulder, tracing a path down to his throat.
The latter’s throat bobbed slightly, his deep black eyes filled with emotion. He stood rigidly against the bathtub, looking down as her fingertips traced a path downward, finally coming to rest on his chest.
As her fingertips traced along, he felt a warm sensation traveling downward, a tingling sensation hitting him continuously. His body, which originally felt like it was on the verge of breaking apart, was met with an unprecedented sense of comfort with her touch.
