Chapter 23
Chapter 23
Elliot stood in the courtyard, blood from his knuckles dripping to the ground, yet he felt no pain.
His gaze remained fixed on the direction Sophie had left, his chest churning with unprecedented violence and regret.
“Mr. Sinclair!” His assistant rushed over, holding a document envelope with a grave expression. “We found it.”
Elliot slowly withdrew his gaze, his voice cold as ice: “What is it?”
The assistant hesitated before handing over the envelope: “This is… everything Miss Evans has done to your wife over the years.”
Elliot snatched the envelope and tore it open roughly.
Inside were stacks of photos, surveillance screenshots, and audio files. He flipped through a few pages, his pupils suddenly constricting-
In the photos, Phoebe stood at the stairway, deliberately spilling water on the steps when no one was around;
In surveillance footage, she secretly replaced Sophie’s medicine with laxatives when she wasn’t looking;
There was also an audio recording-
“That stupid woman, I just pretend to be pitiful and Elliot believes me. She deserves everything I do to her…”
Elliot’s fingers clenched tighter and tighter, crumpling the papers in his palm.
His breathing grew heavier, a terrifying storm brewing in his eyes.
“There’s more…” The assistant swallowed hard, handing over a medical report. “When your wife was locked in the basement, Miss Evans… had someone release a bag of rats inside.”
Elliot’s temples throbbed, his mind ringing as if something had collapsed with a thunderous crash.
He remembered that day.
Sophie had been locked in the basement all night, emerging the next day pale and trembling.
He thought she was just being dramatic, even sneering mockingly: “Just one night in confinement–why cry all night?”
But she had said then, “Phoebe released rats in there…”
And he hadn’t believed her at all.
Elliot’s chest heaved violently, unprecedented rage sweeping through his entire body.
He violently threw the documents to the ground, his voice terrifyingly–hoarse: “Where is Phoebe Evans now?”
The assistant retreated half a step, frightened by the viciousness in his eyes: “At… at the Sinclair estate…..”

Elliot turned and strode away, his steps so fast they created wind. He pulled out his phone and called the head of security, his voice cold as ice: “Lock Phoebe Evans in the basement. Immediately!”
Sinclai
The voice on the other end hesitated: “Mr. Sinclair, this…”
“Can’t understand plain English?” Elliot’s voice was sinister to the extreme. “Lock her up and ‘take care of her–I want her to experience a thousand times over everything she did to Sophie!”
At the Sinclair estate.
Phoebe sat leisurely on the sofa painting her nails, humming a tune.
She had just received news that Elliot had gone to Coastal Town to find Sophie. Though annoyed, she was certain that with Sophie’s stubborn temperament, she would never easily forgive him.
She just needed to add fuel to the fire, and Elliot would eventually completely abandon that woman.
Lost in thought, the estate’s front door was suddenly kicked open violently!
Phoebe jumped, looking up to see Elliot striding in with a terrifyingly dark expression.
Her heart tightened, but she quickly put on a pitiful expression: “Elliot, how did you-”
Before she could finish, Elliot grabbed her throat and slammed her against the wall!
“Phoebe Evans,” his voice was low like a demon crawling out of hell, “what excellent methods you have.”
Phoebe struggled to breathe, her face turning red as she desperately clawed at luis arm, “Elliot… what are you doing… let me go…”
Elliot laughed coldly and suddenly released his grip.
Phoebe collapsed to the floor, clutching her throat and coughing violently, tears and snot covering her face.
“Drag her down.” Elliot looked at her like she was garbage. “Lock her in the basement.”
The bodyguards immediately stepped forward, grabbing Phoebe to drag her to the basement.
Only then did Phoebe panic, struggling and screaming: “Elliot Sinclair! Are you insane?! How dare you touch me?! Have you forgotten who’s been by your side all along?! Have you forgotten that Sophie doesn’t love you at all?!”
Elliot’s eyes grew even colder.
He slowly crouched down, gripping her chin with force that could crush her bones: “Phoebe Evans, listen carefully–from today on,
I’ll make your life a living hell.”
With that, he violently released her and coldly ordered the bodyguards: “Put a bag of rats in there. Let her enjoy it properly.”
Phoebe’s face went deathly pale: “No… don’t! Elliot Sinclair! You can’t do this to me! Ahhh-!”
Her screams were cut off by the heavy iron door.
Elliot stood outside the basement door, his eyes gloomy to the extreme.
