With everyone’s blessing, Zach and I completed the marking ceremony. Eva suddenly rushed onto the stage like a
madwoman and grabbed at me.
“You bitch! Why is it always you who gets everything? What trick did you use? Liam still thinks about you!” As she was dragged away, she screamed with laughter.
“Lily! You still don’t know, do you? Your child was killed by Liam himself! You deserved it!”
I simply smiled at her coldly. “I know. That’s why I left that trash to you.”
After things settled, Zach cupped my face and told me he had liked me for a long time. He had been afraid that I wouldn’t accept love again because of my emotional wounds. So he became my assistant to get closer to me and build a relationship.
I was a little upset with him for keeping that from me for so long. But in the end, I gained a true and sincere love.
After the ceremony, Eva was taken away by the Federation’s enforcement team, still screaming.
Zach gave me a sly look.
The next day, every news outlet across the packs showed images of Eva, wild–haired and hysterical. It was only then that I
learned the ambush at the hunting ground had also been orchestrated by her.
After the truth came to light, Liam began kneeling at my doorstep every day, begging for my forgiveness. But how could I
possibly forgive him?
What happened in the past had already hurt me. I could not forgive on behalf of the woman I once was.
