Yvonne looked between them, her big eyes full of hesitation.
“What? M–me?” she squeaked.

Yvonne clung to the doorframe, her face filled with despair.
She blinked her big, round eyes, staring at them for a few seconds before nervously gripping the frame tighter.
Finally, her eyes welled up with tears, and with a wail of pure hopelessness, she spun around and bolted.
Her shaky, teary voice echoed in their ears as she ran off. I’m telling Dadr

Watching her tiny figure flee as if running for her life, the two culprits couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
Once the laughter faded, they exchanged glances and immediately started arguing again.
Ian sighed. “Look, you know my sister’s been struggling these past couple of years. This flower’s scent helps with. swings. I need to take it.”
Victor didn’t budge, pointing to one of the orchids. “And my grandfather? His birthday’s coming up. He’s obsessed with orchids. I need this one!”
Jan hesitated, glancing at the orchid.

That pot
of flowers was thriving far better than the other two, even though it hadn’t bloomed yet.
It was the rarest variety–once it blossomed, it would be breathtaking beyond imagination.
Ian hesitated, unwilling to part with it.
Victor smirked. “You take the other two. I’ll take that one. Or…”
He shrugged. “We both stay here tonight and keep arguing. Plenty of guest rooms.”
Earlier, Yvonne had promised him that she would arrange another bouquet for him tomorrow. That was precisely why Victor chose to take only one pot of orchids for now.
The two stood at an impasse for a few minutes before Ian finally gritted his teeth, his heart aching. “Fine. Take the damn orchid.”
Victor clapped a hand on his shoulder, grinning. “Now that’s friendship.”
Their friendship remained unchanged.
Ian bent down and said, “Alright, what are you waiting for? Move it.”
They loaded them into their cars, with Ian even requesting a sealed bag from the Adler staff to keep the flowers‘ scent contained.
A few minutes later, Yvonne peeked back into her room.
Her flowers were gone. The room felt emptier without them, but she sighed in relief.
‘As long as those two aren’t bothering me anymore, I can live with it,‘ she thought.
Reena stood behind Yvonne and suddenly spoke, startling her.
“Miss… they took all your flowers,” she said with a hint of regret.
Yvonne turned around and pulled Reena inside.
Reena glanced at the time and suggested, “If you still want to grow more, I can take you to buy some.”
She knew how much Yvonne loved tending to flowers–so much so that her plants thrived even better than those grown by professionals.
Yvonne nodded and gently held Reena’s hand. “Let’s go,” she said softly.
Reena called the driver, but when they reached the front door, they stopped short.
Ian and Victor were still there, standing together, deep in discussion.
To Yvonne, these two were nothing short of demons at this point. The moment she spotted them, a chill ran down her spine, and she instinctively turned to retreat back inside.
But it was too late. Victor’s sharp eyes caught her.
“Yvonne! Where do you think you’re going?” he called out.
He was asking the obvious, a teasing glint in his eyes as he and Ian strolled over with matching smiles.
Yvonne opened her mouth, hesitated, then clamped it shut, her face tensing in frustration.

Before she could react, Victor had already loaded Yvonne into the car. By the time she pulled out her phone to call the driver, the car was already speeding off.
Standing there, stunned, Keena could only watch as the vehicle disappeared down the driveway.
‘Wait. They just leave me behind!‘ she thought.
Inside the car, Yvonne twisted in her seat, panicked. “Reena’s not here!”
Victor ruffled her hair, grinning like a fox. “Don’t worry. We’ll take care of you.”
