Chapter 308
Grave didn’t reach for the phone that was handed to him.
Just then, the sharp–eyed woman happened to see it.
The old man gave
him the phone was very considerate and even took off the phone case,
Although the light was dim, the shiny Apple logo on the back of the phone still caught the woman’s attention
Her breath hitched, and her eyes lit up.
An iPhone!
Her son used an iPhone–an expensive one, costing over 2,000 dollars. But she thought her son deserved the best, so she hadn’t hatted an eye at the price.
On the other hand, when her daughter–in–law had wanted to switch to an iPhone last year, the woman had thrown such a fit at home that she didn’t stop until the idea was abandoned.
Instead of throwing such a pricey phone into the lake, why not give it to her as compensation?
With that thought, the woman sprang up like lightning and lunged at the old man holding the phone.
As she pounced, Grave took a step back.
The old man, however, wasn’t as quick. He didn’t even realize hert
So the phone was successfully snatched by the woman.
realize her target was the phone in his hand.
Hey, what are you doing? Why are you taking my phone?”
His phone was suddenly snatched away. The old man asked in bewilderment.
“Why did you take my phone? Thinking about what he had just said, the old man even thought the woman had misunderstood, so he explained again, “I told the young man to throw it, not you. Give it back to him!”
But there was no way the woman would surrender what she’d seized, especially since she’d just lost her own phone. In her mind, this one was hers now.
Besides, this was an iPhone, much more expensive than the phone her daughter–in–law had pinched pennies for days to buy her for about five hundred dollars.
She certainly couldn’t let go. She even wanted to write her name on the phone on the spot, in case someone tried to steal it.
“This is mine!” the woman said confidently, “My phone just fell into the lake, so this one is mine!”
The original owner of the phone, the old man, was dumbfounded by this bold logic. He was stunned for a long time before he could react.
“Then go find your lost phone. What does it have to do with me? Why are you taking my things?”
The old man didn’t back down at all because she looked tough. Perhaps he was also quite tough.
Clutching the phone like it was precious, the woman hesitated, her eyes darting suspiciously around at the onlookers. As if sensing the older man’s urge to snatch it, she shoved the iPhone into her clothes.
She glared at him arrogantly. “This is mine! If you dare try to take it. I’ll call the police!”

Chapter 308
“Hey, you…
Dumbfounded, the older man could only point at her, sputtering for words.
But seeing her indifference, he swallowed his words. Still, the more he thought about it, the angrier he became, and he couldn’t help but analyze what had just happened.
“I knew you were trouble from the start! You were clearly framing this young man! With that unreasonable temper of yours you’re exactly the type to stir up drama…”
Hearing his words and noticing the strange looks from those around her, the woman panicked and began to shout back.
The onlookers aimed their phones at her. Perhaps realizing the shame of her actions, she waved her hands in front of her face, refusing to be filmed.
“Stop filming! What are you doing? Who said you could film? You’re violating my portrait rights”
She had completely forgotten how she had initially taken out her phone and filmed Grave relentlessly, narrating the whole thing.
The people around her “kindly” reminded her, but she pretended not to hear them.
Even without explanation, others had already figured out the truth from her previous arrogance and unreasonable behavior.
“I saw you hit the young man first, and you deliberately reversed right and wrong to frame him.”
“Yes, that’s right, and you were the one who pointed your phone at him just now, so he threw your phone into the river. You
deserve it.”
“You’re the one who’s truly uncultured and disgraceful to us Strate City folks!”
Under the crowd’s accusations, the middle–aged woman couldn’t help but feel a little guilty.
She wasn’t from Strate City at all. If she were, she would have used this point to attack Grave earlier.
“Stop filming, stop filming. I’m going back!”
Seeing the situation turning against her, she covered the iPhone and prepared to flee.
She lowered her head, searching for her grandson.
But after looking around, she didn’t see her grandson.
The woman froze for a moment, then panicked. She looked up and shouted her grandson’s name in an anxious tone, “Adam, Adam, where are you?”
The people who had just accused her were stunned. The woman’s earlier smugness over snatching the iPhone vanished completely, replaced by sheer terror. “My grandson, my grandson is gone!”
