What just happened? Did that man just openly threaten her? Damon watched in shock as he went into the house,
“Dora, he called, advancing closer to her.
“Who the hell is that?”
“It’s none of your business,” Isadora snapped before walking to her car. She got in and drove away.
“What the hell?” Damon walked into the house and went straight to the dining room.
“Where is he?”
Steve replied, “He left with a man who visited.”
Where?”
“I overheard them mention the office; is there a problem?” Steve probed.
“Stay here.” Damon quickly went in search of Mr. Levi’s office, and when he found it, he didn’t hesitate to turn the doorknob open and enter.
“What is…?” As soon as his eyes met the man from before, he held himself back.
“Dad, who is this man? “I was just about to ask you,” Aaron asked Mr. Levi immediately as Damon entered the office.
“It is none of your business; excuse us; I have business with him.” Mr. Levi sternly dismissed him.
“Okay, I guess we’ll continue with our conversation later.” Aaron stood up and walked out of the office, almost bumping into Damon in the process.
Damon shut the door and took his seat. Before he could speak, Mr. Levi beat him to it.
“You must have witnessed how they treated her,” he started. “Her uncles and cousins want her head.”
Then why are you putting her in even more trouble?” She obviously doesn’t want the position.”
“This is why you must protect her.” “If you leave her, they’ll succeed in eliminating her.”
“What’re you doing about it, then?” “Your children and grandchildren are at her neck; what are you doing about it?”
“Why do you think that she’s alive today? They have not carried out their plan because of me.” Mr. Levi exhaled sadly: “When I die, they won’t hesitate to take her head.”
“This is why I need your help,” he added.
“The first thing you need to do is take that position away from her.” Don’t force her to take over as president of your organization; anyone can tell that they are after her simply because of the position you are handing to her.”
“Do you sincerely think that she would be fine if I took everything from her?” Mr. Levi chuckled.
“I think that is the first step,” Damon insisted.
“This is why I said a day–old baby is smarter than you are.”
“Make me understand your point.”

“All of it comes down to her father.” Her father is my first child, so it was natural for him to inherit the company, and he did. He followed in my footsteps, so I appointed him as the company’s president. Four years later, he got into an accident and died. “His wife, who was in the labor room, died with the baby in her when she received the news.”
“That’s how we lost him.” I felt guilty for his accident, so I decided to raise his only surviving daughter as my own child. But as a result, she almost lost her life. After the first attempt made on her life, she disappeared.”
“What were you doing during that period?” Damon slammed his fist hard against the table. How could he have allowed them to do that to her?
“I was sick during that period; they took advantage of my health and tried to terminate her life, but their plans failed, and she disappeared. I guess you met her during her period of disappearance. She was able to get married to you, endure with you, and eventually separate from you with that child in her belly.”
“Well, when I recovered to health and sought her out, but I didn’t find her, I didn’t give up.” I continued looking for her for years, but there were no traces of her.”
“Then one day, I gathered all my children and grandchildren and told ther
that I would sell the company and donate everything I had to the orphanage if they didn’t provide for her.” I received a message confirming her discovery two months after I made the threats. I guess one of her uncles had his eyes on him. I found her badly beaten in the hospital, but she refused to speak to me.”
“Till today, it’s been difficult to communicate with her. I don’t blame her; she went through hell, but one thing I can’t accept is letting my other children win. I have to do everything in my power to ensure that Isadora becomes the company’s president. I hope you understand where I’m coming from.”
“And even if I decide to take everything away from her or disown her, my children will still seek her out and kill her after my death.” I want her to be able to defend herself. I want her to take revenge for what they did to her father. I can’t do much because they’re my children, but she can. She has managed to disassociate herself from them, so I believe she can do anything.”
“I have complete confidence in her. That’s why I need someone who can support her, protect her, and assist her in achieving her goals.” Do not try to discourage me; it won’t work.”
“Do you understand me now?”
Damon shook his head several times as he tried to understand all that he had said.
“Do you understand?”
“I do, but… since you already asked me not to discourage you, then I won’t.”
“Good. So what do you think about getting married to her again?”
“Marrying her will be very difficult; I already told you that.”
“You don’t have confidence in yourself,” Mr. Levi pointed out.
“I do, but when it comes to her, it’s a different story.” I wronged her badly. If everything you told me turns out to be true, then it means that she got married to me to escape her uncles, who were busy trying to kill her. I should have protected her. I should have loved her, but I didn’t. I treated her worse than her uncles did. “I don’t deserve her forgiveness, and…”
“The only way to forgive yourself is to take up my offer,” Mr. Levi interjected.
“Take
up my offer to marry her.” Then do everything you’ve failed to do for her in the past. Consider this your second chance at love.”
“Sounds easier than said,” Damon scoffed.

“I’ll give you two weeks, try to make her see the reasons, try to make her understand the need for this marriage. If you fail to do so, then I have no choice but to find a better replacement”
“You have two weeks” Mr. Levi mandated.
