I sighed weakly as my vision began to blur. I had lost a lot of blood and my stomach was still in pain. Tears couldn’t escape my eyes anymore as I stared down at the evidence that I had just lost my unborn child. My lemon green dress was now dark with blood and dirt.
The chains that held my hands up clanged as I struggled to hold on to life. The smell of wet rock, dust, rat poop and blood filled my nose as I sat in the silent, dark dungeon.
For the past five years, I gave my life in entirety to Aiden. I submitted my being to him. I gave all I had to please him, despite his every assault. Not only that, but I loved him despite all the trials of hell he put me through. And yet, he could turn his back to me and his unborn child when we needed him the most.
He watched me cry in pain and bleed out until I could no longer feel the precious life of my child in my stomach anymore. All because Carla told him I planned to poison him, and all because he believes the bastard child in Carla’s womb is his.
