Chapter 10
I stood in front of my mirror after bathing, and as I wiped my hair, an ethereal voice spoke.
“Hello!
I quickly turned around and found no one was in the room.
“Who’s there? “I called as I looked about my room anxiously.
*Your wolf.
I froze on hearing that, and the voice spoke again.
“Turn around. In the mirror
I turned around in fear and anticipation, and when I looked in the mirror, I froze and tears rushed to my eyes.
It wasn’t my reflection that was in the mirror. It was a silver wolf with electric and enchanting blue eye
eyes. She looked ethereal.. Magical
“I’m sorry I came to you this way. It will take some time before you get your first turn, and I have to talk to you. “She spoke and my heart skipped a beat.
“Who Who are you? “I questioned as I battled to hold back my tears. I already had a guess, but I wanted to be certain. I wanted to hear her say it.
“I’m Arila. Your wolf. “She said, and I froze.
“You had me since you were 18, but because of your cousin, we could never get to meet. I was pushed into the shadows of your existence, but now the goddess has given us a second chance. “Arila continued talking, and my tears began to fall as I reached out to touch the mirror.
“You’re so beautiful… “I noted, and her reflection leaned against where my hand was on the mirror.
“Don’t worry. Soon enough, we will meet. But you have to do something first. “She said as she stared at me, and I raised a brow
“What?
“The fruits aren’t the only way Carla has been poisoning you. Her poison wasn’t enough to hold me down, so… “She began, and she stared, looking at something behind me.
I followed her gaze, and my eyes landed on flower pots on my windows.
“Those flowers have been sprayed with wolves bane. Every morning, when the flowers are changed, they are replaced with a fresh doze of wolf bane: “She continued, and my eyes widened as I stared at the beautiful lilies.
“That witch… “I growled, and Arila spoke again.
“Get rid of the flowers and fruits, and in no time, we will meet. For now, finally, I can talk to you, and you can demand presence through reflections. “She said, and I turned back to her.
“It’s an honor to finally meet you, Moon Wolf. “I said with a small smile, and Arila also bowed.
“The honor is all mine. No other person is worthy of being my bearer. “She said and I blushed.
Suddenly, there was a knock on my door, and Arila’s reflection quickly vanished. Revealing mine.
“Who is it? “I called, and the maid replied.
“Fruits, my lady,”
“Come in. “I called, and as she walked in and placed the plate of grapes on my bed, she bowed and made to leave, but I stopped her.
“Takes the flower pots out of my room.

She gave me a look, but immediately began to walk over to my windows. She didn’t hesitate, and it made me wonder if she knew what the flowers were. Carla is too smart to put all her eggs in one basket, so it only made sense that she had different maids doing these dirty bidding.
I want a different scent in my room. So, until I demand for it, I want no flowers. “I said in a bid to erase any suspicions, and the maid just nodded with the flower pots in her hands, and I watched in silence as she left.
I walked through the castle with my dress held up as I walked to Ace’s room. His door was wide open, and I froze and felt blood rush to my cheeks at the sight in front of me.
He was shirtless and in the middle of work out. He had just sweatpants on, and some of his hair stuck to his sweaty face.
He was doing push–ups and his body was wet with sweat. Sweat that dropped on the floor underneath him. The tattoo of the pack’s crest on his left forearm stretched and flexed each time he moved, and the sigh of him mesmerized me.
He suddenly snapped his head in my direction, and when his silver eyes landed on me, I almost staggered.
“Celine? “He called in surprise as he stopped, and I felt my cheeks burn as he stood straight and ran his fingers through his hair in a bid to get the strands stuck on his skin off.
“What are you doing here? “He questioned as he walked over to me, and I had to lean against the door frame for support as my knees had turned to jelly
Fuck, Ace was gorgeous‘ How did I never notice that? I was always keen on that idiot Aiden.
I… I.. Well… ‘I began, but my words failed me.
“Breath, Celine. “Arila said in my head, and I drew a deep breath as Ace stood in front of me and looked down at me..
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were busy. I was bored and was hoping you could take me through the pack? I haven’t left the palace in a while. “I said, and he smiled at me.
“Oh, that’s not a problem. I’d just shower and get dressed. I can never be too busy for you. “He said, and the last words sent shivers through me.
I’ll come to you when I’m done. “He added, and I nodded as I battled to hide my blush. What the hell was wrong with me?
*You like him. “Arila noted and I ignored her.
“Okay. “I said to Ace, and as I turned around and walked away, I could feel his gaze keen on me.
*And I think he likes you too. “Arila spoke again, and I rolled my eyes.
“Nothing like that is happening. Arila! “I replied and she scoffed.
*We’ll see. *
