Chapter 50
Serena saw Wilson walking out when she arrived at the entrance. She smiled at him.
“Mr. Quade, why did you leave?”
“It’s dance time. I’m looking for a dance partner.” He reached out to Serena and bowed like a gentleman. “Ms. Judd, may I?”
She slowly placed her hand in his. They made their way to the dance floor.
Not far away, Justin shot them an icy glare. He was about to approach them when Candice took his arm.
Looking eager, she said, “Justin, let’s dance.”
He gave it some thought and went to the dance floor with Candice in tow.
The lights in the brightly lit hall dimmed. When music started to fill the air, men danced with their partners.
Wilson put his hand on Serena’s waist. He could feel the slight burn on his palm.
He looked down at her face, focusing on her nose and traveling south toward her rosy lips.
Whenever he lowered his head, he smelled a whiff of light fragrance that did not seem to come from a perfume. It was just how she smelled like.
The look in his eyes deepened, and he tried to shift his focus.
“Ms. Judd, you dance well.”
She complimented him too, “Mr. Quade, you too.”
He admitted, “I haven’t danced much. Before I came here, I secretly attended some dance practices.”
“Oh, with whom?”
But Wilson seemed reluctant to answer the question. Finally, he revealed, “With Sebastian.”
She was caught off guard, but a smile soon appeared on her lips when she imagined two grown men dancing together.
When they were exchanging whispers, they felt a burning gaze from afar.
Wilson turned around and met Justin’s slightly frosty eyes. With a smirk, he tightened his grip on Serena’s waist and spun her
around.
Justin nearly crushed his teeth in resentment.
The music stopped soon after. The host then went up the stage and, through the microphone, thanked the VIPs for their attendance.

As Quade Group had made the highest charity donation, the host invited Wilson to deliver a speech on stage. However, to
everyone’s surprise, Serena went up to the stage and delivered the speech on his behalf.
With her grace and poise, she looked like a goddess under the lights.
Justin felt unbearably frustrated when she mentioned “Mr. Quade” multiple times in her speech.
At the same time, Candice was leaning against Justin. She purred, “Justin, I’m sorry I was a little clumsy on the dance floor. I must have stepped on your foot.”
“It’s alright.” In truth, he did not even notice that.
Staring at Serena, who was speaking on the stage, Candice cooed, “Justin, Serena is awesome. She’s so capable and bold, unlike me. I can’t do anything right. I’m hopeless without you.”
Candice knew very well that Justin had always disliked Serena’s assertiveness and calm demeanor. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been drawn to Candice instead.
But this time, Justin said nothing. Staring at the radiant and stunning Serena on the stage, he suddenly found her coolness and elegance rather alluring.
“I need to make a call.” He removed his arm from Candice’s grasp and walked out of the door. The frustration in his chest finally eased when he distanced himself from the crowds.
Arthur walked up to him with a chuckle. “Are you regretting it now?”
Justin frowned. “What are you talking about?”
Arthur teased him, “You were staring at Serena with a questionable look in your eyes.”
He offered Justin a cigarette. “I know you have a huge ego, but if you can’t forget about her, there’s no shame in caving in just this once. Why can’t you face your true
feelings?”
