The charity gala ended. As a feast was served on the long table, everyone raised their glasses and started to mingle.
Wilson sat with a few CEOS to talk business while Serena wandered off to grab her favorite seafood.
Her gaze drifted occasionally to the entrance, but Lauren was nowhere to be seen. How odd! Lauren was always the most eager and enthusiastic when it came to networking, but she seemed to be missing.
A snarky voice rang in her ears. “Serena Judd, you’re something else.”
Lynn approached Serena, her high heels clicking “I was surprised when you readily left Justin. Turns out it’s because you’ve snagged yourself a richer man.‘

Without bothering to look at Lynn, Serena replied, “Do you have nothing better to talk about than relationships?”
“Drop your act! I saw the way you look at Wilson when you were dancing just now.” Lynn smiled mockingly. “You’d better not
think you could seduce Wilson just because you got looks. He’s not to
messed with.”
“I suggest you focus on yourself. You’ve been treating me as your rival. Now that I’m out of your way, I wonder when you’ll get
married to Justin Farrow.” Smiling faintly, Serena added nonchalantly, “Oh, I nearly forgot–Justin has a new girlfriend. You still
gotta catch up.”

Serena was ready to leave as she couldn’t be bothered to engage with Lynn. Just as she turned around, she sensed some sudden.

She turned back and was horrified to see Lynn lunging at her, holding a glass of red wine.
Just when they were about to collide, Serena gave Lynn a kick. At the same time, someone scooped Serena up and pulled her aside
to safety.
Serena turned around, and her gaze rested on Wilson’s cold and dazzling face. He placed her on the ground.
“Are you alright?”
“I’m fine.”
Meanwhile, the glass of wine in Lynn’s hand had spilled all over the ground. Had Wilson not come to Serena’s rescue, Lynn would
have splashed all the wine on Serena.
The commotion attracted everyone’s attention. Even Lynn seemed stunned.

Lynn held her leg. She was still hurting from Serena’s kick. Fury colored her cheeks. She bellowed, “Serena Judd, how dare you kick me in the leg?”
“What was I supposed to do? You lunged at me with a glass of wine!”
“What do you mean? Are you saying I planned to spill the wine on you?” Lynn stomped. “Someone shoved me toward you just now!”
It sounded like a weak excuse. Everyone knew she had beef with Serena. Just now, she clearly planned to spill the wine all over Serena
Wilson’s eyes frosted over. “Why don’t you explain yourself?”
Lynn grew nervous. “Mr. Quade, I didn’t-”
“I wasn’t talking to you.” With a sharp glint in his eyes, he stared at Candice, who was standing not far away from them. “Hey, you there. What were you trying to do, shoving Lynn in this
direction?”
