“So will she be coming?” Daphne and Mom asked simultaneously, I was taken aback by their question, I raised my head muttering a shocked “ahn ahn” as I looked between the two of them.
“I don’t understand,” I muttered.
“You just said you were going to text her now, so what’s her reply?” Mom asked with a small shrug as she took her seat on the couch.
“She said she’ll be around,”
“But don’t put your mind to it,” I added immediately
“Well you have to make sure she comes, because I’m expecting her now,” she said, I swallowed hard shaking my head slightly as I walk back to the dinning table to pick up my stuff.
“When will you be leaving to see your therapist?” I asked Daphne, just as she was about to reply, the door bell rung, I turned to look at her from the dinning with raised brows, she sighed as she relunctantly got up from where she was seated and walked towards the door.
“I’m actually late and I have a lot of things to do today,” I said to Mom as I packed up my things on the table.
“Would you like me to come and assist you since Daphne won’t be around for a while,” she offered and I shook my head
slowly as I zipped up my laptop bag and slowly walked back into the living room.
Mom used to work at the office with us, from when we first started when we didn’t have many hands and we were trying to
gain our stand, up until we decided it was too stressful for her to continue and then we set up a small fashion business for
her few minutes driving distance away from the house.
She visited there at her convenience, unlike the tight schedule she had no option but to keep working in the office, although she still came to the office from time to time.
I slowly bent towards her and pecked her cheeks with a small smile,
“Don’t worry, I can handle it,” I said and just then Daphne walked in with a big bouquet of flowers in her hands and a medium sized gift bag, my eyes widened in surprise as I slowly stood up to my feet and walked towards her.
“Who is this from?” I asked, she rolled her eyes at me as she gently dropped the bag on the center table.
“Who do you think?!” She muttered as she drew out a small card sticking from the bouquet and stretched it out to me.
-I’m sorry for the things I said the Last time. I heard about your decision to go into therapy and I’m very proud of the Courageous step you’re taking. Collin- I read the card out loud.
“Awwn,” Mom cooed as she stood up from where she was seated and opened up the gift bag.
“A journal, A box of Affirmation cards and a Mug warmer, oh my days, he’s so sweet” Mom muttered as she brought out all the content of the gift bag, Daphne rolled her eyes to the back of her head as she also dropped the flowers on the table and placed her hands on her waist.
“I’m not interested!” She grumbled lowly, Mom carefully dropped the gifts on the table and moved closer to her,
“Are you really not interested, he’s obviously into you and as far as I know, you’ve been different since he spoke to you,” Mom said to her softly, Daphne begrudgingly removed her hands from her hips and folded it around her chest as she turned and

walked to seat on a sofa.
“He spoke to me rudely,” she grumbled, I sighed deeply and shook my head at her, what exactly do women want? You
obviously like him also but you just want to give everybody headache!
Can’t you just acknowledge that you like someone and let peace reign instead of hurting the person’s feeling first.
“Damon are you really sure you’re okay? Is there something you’re not telling us?!” Mom said and it was until then I realized
that I just said my last statement out loud.
“What do you mean hurting his feeling? Who hurt who?!” Daphne snorted rolling her eyes at me, I muttered sorry under my
breath, she was behaving like Harper and I just happened to say what I had been thinking about all night out.
“Damon, you should understand that there are a lot of there things involved in getting into a relationship,”
“Nobody is that wicked to hurt someone they truly like for no reason,” she said and she slowly turned to look at Daphne.
“Do you really not like him?! Do you want to return the gift to him? Do you really really want to do that?” She asked, Daphne furrowed her brows and shook her head slowly.
“I don’t know what I want,” she murmured, mom slowly sat by the arm of her chair and placed her hands on her shoulder.
“It’s totally fine to not know what you want yet, but I want you to keep an open mind” She said to her and Daphne nodded
slowly.
I just stared at the both of them as they spoke about it, but Harper didn’t seem confused when she spoke earlier, she was firm
and stern. She said she did not want to have anything personal to do with me outside of business, that did not seem like
someone who is confused. But now she responded to my text saying she was going to come over for dinner, perhaps she’s
actually confused.
I exhaled deeply in confusion, here I am again trying to discern a woman.

The door to my office slowly went open and Lisa walked in
“Good Morning Sir Damon,” she greeted as she moved towards me, I flashed her a small smile to acknowledge her greeting, immediately she got to me, she took out her iPad and stretched it out to me.
“I had someone look into Novan as you asked,” she began as I took the laptop from her.
“Apparently he’s been in contacts with some inappropriate loan shark and a lot of loan companies, his debts is piling now and his parent house is about to be taken away,” she said, I slowly looked up at her and dropped the tablet on the table,
“Apparently he’s in some kind of shady business with Mrs Geraldine and the only way she offered to help him out with his
debt is if he gets married to Harper,”
“But now that’s not possible,” I muttered thoughtfully and she nodded in reply, I handed her tablet back to her and dismissed
her.
I knew that the relationship between Harper and her mother was not healthy but I had no idea that it was this deep. I need to speak with Harper.
