I picked up my phone, stared in it for a while and dropped it back on the table. I was contemplating whether or not to text Damon. This is just so funny, we are literally working together, it should not be weird to call him right.
I picked up my phone again, scrolled towards his number and just as I wanted to text him, his message came in.
-I think we need to talk, Harper. – The message read.
-Sure- I texted back almost immediately, it took few minutes to reply to me and when he eventually did, he texted me the
location where we were supposed to meet.
I pushed my chair backwards immediately, picked up my bag from my table and headed out.
Just as soon as I got to the entrance, the door bursted open and Mom dashed in.
I paused in my tracks taken back my her sudden intrusion, I stepped backwards a little as she stormed towards me,
track immediately she got to me, before I could say anything, she raised her hands and slammed it hard on my face.
I hissed lightly, my eyes went slightly shut as I tried to take in the sting on my face,
“Did you think I won’t find out!” She yelled angrily, My eyes slowly flung open and I turned back to look at her, I just stared at her as she huffed and puffed, trying to catch her breath, I waited patiently for her to get on with whatsoever is making her
bark so loudly.
“Did you really think I won’t find out huh!” She yelled stepping closer to me, I stood my ground, my grip around my bag tightened and I could almost feel my veins popping out of my wrist.
“You think I don’t know this was all your scheme? How dare you deceive your own sister! Is this what family signifies to you? Stealing from each other?!” She yelled and immediately it occurred to me what had just happened and why she was this wrought, her audacity to mention Family actually stood out to me though. The same family that wants nothing but to ruin my life, the same family that killed me? I remember vividly her telling me that she has done a lot for me to get to that point in my last life and now she’s standing in front of me to talk to me about family? How very laughable.
My lips stretched into a smile as she spoke and I slowly raised my bag to the crook of my elbow and I folded my hands
across my chest.
“You set your sister up! You knew it was risky and you led her into it! You’re really a bastard!” She yelled, I chuckled lightly and shook my head slowly at her. A bastard? Really? Is that what we’re saying now?
“Why are you angry?!” I finally asked my voice coming out low and smooth and nonchalantly.
“You’re the one who chose to side with a dumb empty brained Snapchat freak, you should expect things like this” I replied softly, flapping my lashes at her. Her face twisted in fury staring at me.
“Don’t you dare turn this around on her! You orchestrated this whole thing, didn’t you? You manipulated her!”
I chuckled lightly, and gently dropped my hands, I took one step closer to her and my lips stretched into a small smile.
“Okay then. If you say so, Enjoy!” I muttered and with that I stepped away from her front and walked away, just as I stepped out of my office, I heard her release a muffled scream and slam her hands on the table. Knock yourself out Ma. I chuckled lightly and flashed Leslie a small smile in reply to her greetings.

I slowly walked into the bar, my eyes hovering around in search of Damon, looking to the far left my eyes fell on him, he was seating at the front bar, directly infront of the bartender and they appeared to be talking about something, my grip on my bag tightened and I walked towards him immediately.
“Hi,” I greeted immediately I got to him, he turned around, immediately he saw me, he pushed the stool he was seating on backwards and stood up to me, his eyes squinted immediately and he reached forward and grabbed my jaw softly,
“Who hit you Harper?” He asked sternly, I shook my head slowly as I stepped forward and took my seat on the stool beside him.
“It’s nothing Damon, please sit” I whispered softly, he ignored me and stepped closer to me softly raising up my chin,
“Who hit you Harper, is it that good for nothing guy?!” He repeated his voice a little bit more sternly, I took his hands in mine and gently pulled him to sit.
“Trust me, it’s nothing, it was just a minor accident,” I whispered, he puffed deeply, still staring at me like he could not trust me, it was obvious he did not believe it was an accident.
“If you say so,” he whispered clearing his throat, he reached out to the bartender and asked him to give us the wine asked of previously and two glasses,
“Thank you,” I muttered as our drinks were served, I picked up his glass and took a small sip, I could tell he was trying to collect his words and I just stared at him quietly, he didn’t have his usual smile on his face, rather his face was knotted in a serious frown, he still looked cute though, but no! This wasn’t the version of Damon I wanted to be with.
“Yeah so why I asked to …” he began and I slowly placed my hands on his thigh making him stop talking, he slowly turned and locked gazes with me.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered to him, he didn’t say anything, he just stared at me quietly,
“What for? It’s very fine if it’s what you want, who am I to force what I want on you,” he finally replied still not taking his eyes
off me.
“I won’t deny that I felt jealous seeing you speak so freely with Michelle,” I muttered.
“Thinking about about it, I realized that I have no right to behave in the way that I did, it was inappropriate,”
“And I definitely do not want to be anything less than friends with you,” I said to him, his lips slowly stretched into a small
smile and I retrieved my hands from his thigh.
“Now this is the Damon I know,”
