At the hospital after the doctor checked her condition, he helped her sit on a wheelchair and gave her a series of examination forms.
“Family members paid downstairs can take you directly to the second floor for examination. After the examination is done, come back up and I will proceed with the next diagnosis.”
Vanessie was lying on the hospital bed, holding the test report and not moving.
The doctor then asked, just one question.
“Where are your family members”
“Sorry, I didn’t have any family in Leavenworth.”
The woman hung her head, her hair soaked by the rain still dripping down. Her hoarse voice sounded a bit embarrassed.
The handle of the wheelchair was suddenly grabbed by someone and pushed towards the elevator.
Vanessie turned her head in confusion, her gaze immediately meeting a pair of deep and mysterious eyes.
The man glanced at her without saying anything, pushing the wheelchair forward with one hand on the handle and holding a phone in the other hand, making a call.
He was wearing a black coat, underneath which was an expensive dark grey suit that was well–tailored, making him look tall and elegant. Seeing her staring at him, he put away his phone and casually put it in his coat, exuding a mature male power and calmness all over.
Vanessie moved her lips, her eyes filled with surprise and embarrassment.
“Mr. Ellison, how come you’re here?”
Izaiah didn’t answer, he looked around with deep eyes, then they landed on her, and the next second the black coat covered her head. “That’s what Ms. Chavez said, you’d be causing a ruckus in Leavenworth, running with a bunch of lackeys?”
Vanessie took off her coat, her expression froze for a moment.
This was
was the bold declaration she made in front of her sister when she insisted on staying in Leavenworth and giving up the inheritance rights of the Chavez family.
I didn’t expect it to reach his ears
She awkwardly lowered her head, her cheeks burning.
Izaiah probably couldn’t stand her silence, so he casually asked, What’s up?

She hung her head even lower.
The elevator reached the second floor, and there were a lot of people waiting at the doors of each examination room.
Izaiah pushed her while waiting in the hallway, his phone kept ringing with work stuff.

Kayan waved his hand and said, You’re welcome. He kept looking at her, as if he had a lot of questions to ask but didn’t know how to start.
Vanemie just felt embarrassed and didn’t want to say much. She secretly prayed that he wouldn’t open his mouth to ask
Both of them stayed silent, creating a strange quietness.
Bergen looked down at the inspection report in his hand and walked out of the ultrasound room with Kelly.

Vanessie looked up, a hint of a smirk on her lips, and the paper in her hand crumpled instantly.
She took out her phone and called Bergen.
The man nearby took out his phone and glanced at it, furrowing his brows instantly.
Kelly leaned over and saw that it was a call from Vanessic, she softly said a word.
“You should still answer, what if Vanessie needs you for something?
Bergen furrowed his brows and then relaxed, picking up the phone.
“I was busy at work, what’s up
Vanessie quietly held her phone and softly spoke.
“I didn’t even know when the Venberg Group’s office area moved to the hospital.”
Her soft voice echoed in the hallway. Rayan promptly moved aside, releasing the gaze Bergen had thrown at her.
Bergen hesitated for a moment, a hint of guilt flashing in his eyes.

was very conscious of her position, standing a bit further away from Bergen, hands hanging in front of her, and respectfully said,
“Vanessie, don’t get me wrong, Mr. Chadwick..”
Vanessie didn’t even look at her, just stared at Bergen.
Bergen saw her sitting in a wheelchair, and quickly snapped out of his shock, walking briskly towards her.
“Are you hun?”

Vanessie looked at his nervous expression, knowing deep down that the answer she would eventually get would be a lie, but she couldn’t help but ask anyway….
“What are you doing here?”
“I felt a bit uncomfortable with palpitations at work before, so I came for a check–up. I didn’t tell you so you wouldn’t worry.” He blurted out, looking calm as if nothing happened.
His lies made her heart tighten, then she chuckled self–deprecatingly and didn’t say anything,
The doctor in the examination room called out Vanessie’s name.
bergen naturally pushed the wheelchair with Vanessie into the examination room.
Before going in, Vanessie saw Izaiah coming back from ending a phone call.
He stood in the middle of the corridor not far away, looking at her with a cold and distant expression.
Vanessie looked down and averted her gaze.
Actually, she wasn’t very willing to let people who knew about her family background see her like this.
No matter what the purpose was, it made her feel embarrassed and ashamed.
The door of the examination room closed, and Izaiah walked towards the elevator.
Rayan kept up and asked a question.

Rayan was leaiah’s distant cousin, and he had heard about Ixaiah being dumped by Vanesale from the Chavez family.
The Ellison family just kept quiet about it and he had no way to verify
Rayan felt a bit disappointed that he didn’t get to eat the melon he wanted. He couldn’t help but pout and mutter under his breath.

“What was our purpose for coming to the hospital?”
Izaiah glanced at the closed examination room door and then looked away.
“In order to make Jadynn owe me a favor.”
Rayan made a sound of disapproval, “It’s not like it’s enough to make you cancel such an important meeting, right?”
The Chavez family was already going downhill, and Jadynn might not be able to repay the favor she owed.
Rayan didn’t believe his words, so he asked about his thought process. Izaiah calmly gave him a glance.
“You seem bored. The company has a project starting in Africa. How about sending you there?”
Rayan’s face tightened, showing a forced smile, Izaiah, don’t want it anymore.”
Kelly
was holding the pregnancy test results, standing there with a pale face. She heard what Rayan and Izaiah said just now.
Vanessie and them seemed like they had known each other for ages.
Being able to know someone like Izaiah, Vanessie’s birth probably wasn’t as background–less as people around me said.
Bergen kept asking the doctor about her injuries. When she found out she had a fractured bone and needed to be hospitalized, he was busy taking care of everything for her, making the nurses envy him.
He sat by Vanessie’s bedside after sorting everything out, hesitated, and then spoke with a tone of considering everything for her.
“Vanessie, our wedding is coming up soon, and you’re in the hospital again. How about we postpone the wedding?”
