three years ago.
Their reactions were too natural to be an act.
Still in denial, I looked into his company situation and searched online for any relevant information.
However, everything told me that this wasn’t a prank.
Freddie had indeed passed away He died at 22 years old from cancer.
The housekeeper clearly couldn’t stand seeing me like that anymore. She suggested I visit the cemetery if I still couldn’t
believe it.
I didn’t reply. I just got in the car and immediately drove there.
But as I stood outside the gates, a sudden realization hit me. If I didn’t know he was dead, then how did I know where his
grave was?

In that instant, the last thread holding me together snapped.
“How could this be?”
The sky was gloomy, drizzling with rain. I sank to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.
At some point, someone walked over and held an umbrella over me. I turned around instinctively, only to find Bianca standing behind me.
She pulled me up and frowned slightly. “Rosy…”
When I saw the complicated look on her face, a flicker of hope rose in my chest.
I grabbed her hand tightly. “Please tell me Freddie isn’t dead! This is all fake, right? It was supposed to be me who got sick
and died. How did it turn out like this?”
Bianca only shook her head. Her voice landed like a hammer to my chest. “Fred’s gone. Just think of it all as a dream.”
She knew the truth!
I gripped her hand even tighter. “Please, I’m begging you. Tell me the truth!”
Bianca just shook her head again. “Go home. Get some rest.”
Her voice felt like a spell. In a daze, I stumbled back home and fell asleep. When I woke up, all the grief from before had
vanished.
Looking back on everything that happened the day before, I thought everything just felt absurd.
What was I even doing?
Freddie had passed away. I was the one who handled his funeral.
