I attempt to turn to see who’s walked to us, but I’m yanked forward before I can, and I yelp when I fall into his chest with his hands secured tightly around my wrists. He smirks at me, the sight of it is both ominous and devious. “Where do you think you’re going, baby! I told you—you are coming with me.” He whispers and when he starts to bring his hand down to my face, 1 grunt and shake against his hold, snapping my head to the side at the same time the voice yells. “Fucking let go of her!”
1 hear the man sighs and I gasp when I’m pulled flushed to his side. My heart is pounding in my chest when I turn to my front and see Elijah standing before me with bloodshot eyes. His jaw witches with each second that passes and his cruel gaze is on the man keeping me captive.
“Hey, buddy, I don’t know you, but this one is taken. Now run along.” He dismisses next to me and Elijah goes silent for a second before the corner of his lips turns. He takes one step onward, then stops. “I won’t repeat myself”
My wrists are released and I’m shoved to the side as the man steps before me, keeping me from Elijah’s gaze. “I won’t either, so- 1 gasp and move from behind him when Elijah closes the distance between them and throws his hand in the man’s face.
The movement is sharp and makes his neck crack sideways. He stays silent for more than a minute, and I quickly push from behind him. I cross the distance to Elijah and grab onto film, trying to drag him along, but he doesn’t budge.
The man lifts his head again, and he chuckles as he wipes the trail of blood dripping down his chin. He stares at his finger before raising his gaze and a low puff escapes me when his eyes meet mine where I stand behind Elijah. In an almost incomprehensible way, his eyes turn darker and dread grips me at the deadly aura that he radiates.
“I’ll make you pay for that.” He barks from where he stands while I try tugging Elijah back, but he still doesn’t move.

The crowd that’s gathered around us now watches and a bunch of ‘Oos flies around each time someone is hit, yet no one makes a move to step between us. No one dares to–not with the way they’re fighting like they won’t back down until one is on the brink of death.

Apprehension shakes my being because the more hits are landed, the more it starts to get obvious that the one would be Elijah. He’s strong, n doubt, and he’s trying to defend the punches thrown at him, but the man he’s facing is a fucking monster. He doesn’t just have the build to his advantage; his movements are quick, calculated, and meticulous, like he’s been doing this his entire life. He has two more punches thrown at him. before Elijah can even think to come up with them, and as I watch him ger beaten, blood flying everywhere, I curse myself for driving this scene.
“Elijah“” 1 hurry forward without a second thought when he’s put to his ass again. “Goddess, just stop. Please.” i fall next to him and wrap my hands around his shoulders. His breathing is labored as he glowers at the one who remains on his feet, towering above us. I squeeze Elijah’s shoulder in a failed attempt to grab his attention and when I look at the man, he’s standing with a big smirk carved on his face.
“I warned you not to-“The rest of his words don’t make it out as two guards appear in the room. They grab onto each shoulder and he looks around with a scowl. “What the fuck are you doing!”
They don’t answer and don’t release him even as he thrashes against them, raining condemnations and some other profanities. I let out a breath of relief when he’s dragged out of the room and the crowd that gathers around us quickly disperses, the noise of the music and the enticing feeling of excitement returning to the atmosphere.
