Anthony fremmed. He had expected something like this to happen, but he hadn’t expected it to be this soon. Skylar hadn’t even been hack in Los Angeles for a month.
However, since Skylar decided to return, because of her grandfather’s condition, Anthony had been worried that the Carter family would be disturbed and that her ex–husband, David Lawrence, might try to get close to Skylar again, with the twins with himn.
The matter of Aaron Carter’s will and the inheritance given to Skylar, was something that was completely unexpected.
He. Skylar, and the twins, had only planned to stay for three days, at most a week in Los Angeles.
After attending Aaron Carter’s funeral, they were going to take the twins on a tour of some interesting places, then return to Melbourne
However, Aaron Carter’s will changed all plans. David couldn’t do anything about it. It was Skylar’s private domain with her grandfather and his family too, who even though she no longer wanted to acknowledge them, but still, Skylar still had business with them.

“I understand and it’s completely your right. No one can oppose him on that matter and I think, when you and David meet to talk, you should make it clear to him” Anthony said in a firm tone. “Don’t waver at him, sky”
There was a hint of jealousy in Anthony’s voice and Skylar blushed because of it
“I know, Anthony and that’s impossible,” Skylar said firmly.
After that, the conversation flowed without discussing work or anything related to company matters anymore.
After ending the conversation with a promise to contact each other again tomorrow, Skylar turned off the laptop and leaned back on the sofa. She fch ured, but her heart was a little comforted
She had been lonely, ever since Anthony and the twins returned to Australia. She had never been away from them for so long and with the sudden rush she had to face without any plans, the feeling of loneliness only became more intense.
Skylar stood up and walked hazily to the kitchen. She hadn’t had breakfast and didn’t really have the appetite to eat anything, but today was sure to be another long and tiring day, so she should at least prepare herself.
Skylar made herself some cheese toast and poured herself some orange juice, then enjoyed it while standing in front of the kitchen counter, thinking hard.
She picked up the phone and called Fredy Jenner, after she was sure of what she was thinking.
“Ms. James, good morning Fredy greeted in a formal tone.
“Skylar, please,” Skylar said lightly. “I guess, with what my grandfather wanted you to do, which was to take care of and protect me, I could think of you as him right??
