Skylar straightened up and stared at David with a flat gaze. “What about my children? Why are you asking about them?”

“Of course,” Anthony nodded. He leaned over and kissed Skylar’s forehead. “I’m the lucky one in this. I’ve never been a godfather before, and now I gel two at once.

Skylar was snapped out of her reverie and back to the present when she heard a voice calling her name and a knock on the door.
“Come in” Skylar said, inviting the person to come in.
The door opened and Wendy Albert, Skylar’s secretary, entered with a stack of files in her arms.
“This is all the operational data of The Carter South East Asia that I managed to collect, Ms. James,” Wendy said. “I had a quick look, last year, it seems like there were some discrepancies in activities with funding here and there, a little bit but quite often.”
“Ah, good, Wendy,” Skylar said happily. “You are smart and have initiative”

Skylar stared at Wendy while tapping her nails on the table, then she smiled and shook her head
“Just say I’m busy, Wendy. There are several branches of the company that we need to audit immediately, right? She is less important and can wait. Can you refuse her!” Skylar asked softly. “Or should I tell her directly!”
Wendy smiled, “Don’t worry, Ms. James, I’ll take care of it. Ms. Carter is an easy person to deal with.”
Skylar nodded and smiled broadly. Maybe, Wendy would be a good ally too. Who knows.
