Evelyn stood there, frozen like she’d been struck by lightning.
She watched Sebastian bend down, his lips on Charlotte’s chest, watching him suckle.
Time seemed to stretch, every second a knife to her heart.
Until Charlotte let out a soft moan, her fingers tangled in his hair,“Ah… here too…”
Sebastian frowned slightly:“Isn’t this side clear?”
Charlotte didn’t speak, directly wrapping her arms around his neck, pressing his face to hers.
Sebastian was silent for a moment, then bent down again.
Evelyn couldn’t bear to watch anymore and turned to run.
The rain lashed down, but she didn’t feel the cold.
Her mind was filled with their first night together, Sebastian holding her preciously, his voice hoarse:“Evie, you’re my first woman, and my last…”
Now, his lips were on another woman.
It hurt so much.
She doubled over, unable to stand, feeling her heart being ripped apart.
Sebastian Wolfe, you didn’t keep any of your promises.
So why did you barge into my world, disrupting my life?
Evelyn hugged her knees, crouching in the rain until her legs went numb, until the lights in the villa one by one went out, before staggering back.
In the middle of the night, a high fever hit suddenly and violently.
In her delirium, she heard Sebastian’s gentle voice next door:“Baby, be good, Daddy will tell you a story…”
Yes, he was doing prenatal education for Charlotte’s baby.
Just as he’d promised her:“When we have a child, I’ll tell him stories every day…”
She didn’t know how long it lasted, she felt someone calling her.
“Evie? Evie?”
Evelyn struggled to open her eyes, seeing Sebastian sitting by the bedside with a bowl of medicine.
“How did you get such a high fever…” He touched her forehead anxiously, his touch as gentle as before.
But as he approached, Evelyn saw the scene from the living room flash before her eyes.
She trembled and closed her eyes, not wanting to see him.
“Evie, the medicine and water are here.” He paused.“Charlotte is pregnant, and there’s a child to take care of… don’t come out these few days, lest you infect them. I’ll lock the door, and the maid will bring you food.”
Without waiting for her response, he turned and left quickly to care for Charlotte and their child.
The moment the door lock clicked, Evelyn suddenly laughed.
Her laughter grew louder, eventually turning into heart–wrenching sobs.
How ridiculous.
She was once his precious treasure, but now she was a dangerous item that needed to be locked up.

Perhaps at Charlotte’s behest, nobody brought Evelyn food or water those days.
Her high fever persisted, and she lay in bed in a daze, constantly hearing laughter from outside-
Sebastian and Charlotte were watching a movie, one he’d watched countless times with her;
They were having a candlelit dinner, the kind he used to prepare for her
every month;
They were even discussing names for their future children, just as he used to hold her close, whispering in her ear:”Evie, if we have children, let’s name

the boy Sebastian Jr., and the girl Isobel, okay?”
Now, he named Charlotte’s child Sierra Wolfe.
Evelyn curled up in bed, biting her lip, preventing herself from crying out.
