Inside were countless photos of me.
Soon, we would welcome our second pup. I was willing to spend the rest of my life
proving to that sensitive soul that I loved him deeply. One day, I knew he would believe
- it.
“Even now, you’re still making excuses for your mistakes. It’s pathetic and disgusting. You’re rotten to the core.”
However, none of that mattered anymore.
Some of the earliest ones were from my high school days, before I had even met Alaric. As I looked closely at the photos, I was shocked to realize he had been watching over me for decades.
My heart began to pound.
“Start over? Alaric, when you abandoned me in the pack’s affairs office and turned me into a public laughingstock, did you ever think this day would come?”
Seeing my silence, Alaric seemed to think he had a chance. Hope gleamed in his eyes, and he rushed forward to embrace me.
Alaric struggled, shouting furiously, “Do you really think Isadora loves you? You’re just a substitute! I’m the one she really wants! You’re just her second–best, a loser she
settled for…”
The guards immediately began to drag Alaric out.
“My only regret is that I was ever blind enough to think you were my destiny. Now, what makes you think I would ever go back to you?”
A guard knocked him unconscious before he could finish.
Feeling playful, I hid the smile at the corners of my lips and decided to tease him.
He was stunned. He walked over to me nervously, like a child caught doing something wrong, and said softly, “My love, you found out…”
Before he could continue, I stopped him sternly. “Don’t talk about yourself like that. To me, you are the most charming Lycan in the world. You are my one and only mate, the one I will entrust my life to. You are not a creep!”

pulled me into his arms, ecstatic. “My love, you’re… you’re not mad at me?”
But I had accidentally learned about his past. He had once been a wandering lone wolf who fought his way to the top through bloody battles, his heart filled with self–loathing.
I was confused. “Why would I be mad?”
“If you’ve liked me for so long, why didn’t you pursue me sooner? Who knows, I might have fallen for you back then, and we wouldn’t have missed all those years.”
Alaric seemed to sense my fear and quickly spoke. “Isadora, don’t be afraid. I’m not going to hurt you. I just…”
Alaric opened his mouth to say something, but the guards who burst in grabbed him.
I covered his mouth. “Don’t say such foolish things. I love you. You have completely captured my heart.”
Alaric’s face was still badly swollen.
“And you have the gall to talk about love? Aren’t you sick of yourself? It’s disgusting.”
“I know you love me too. Come with me. Let’s run away together.”
I took two agitated steps back. “Just what?”
“Isadora, the truth is… the one I’ve always loved is you. Every time I think about you being with another Lycan, possessed by him, bearing his pups… it feels like a knife in my heart.”
He was always so cold and composed, but at my words, he actually cried. “My love, I never dared to hope you would fall in love with me. Just having you by my side was enough for me.”
Alaric hurriedly explained, “Cassia was pregnant with my pup. I couldn’t just walk
away.”
He didn’t dare to look me in the eye. He knew better than anyone that the one thing I hated most was being deceived.
In the picture, Kieran looked at me with deep affection, while my expression was calm
and distant.
I stared at him warily. “How did you find me here? What do you want?”
However, I dodged him with disgust.

I scoffed. “You are utterly shameless. You betrayed me to have that pup. The moment you betrayed me, you lost any right to talk about responsibility.”
I had to admit, agreeing to bond with him had been an impulsive decision. But after all these years together, my heart had long since changed.
Kieran returned from his meeting to find me sitting quietly on the sofa, surrounded by dozens of photos of myself. His long–hidden secret was exposed.
“I was like a creep, spying on your life from the shadows. A total creep who didn’t even have the courage to approach you.”
Now I understood. It was those early experiences that had left him with such deep insecurities.
Kieran followed close behind, his gaze icy, his voice low and lethal. “Alaric, you have some nerve. Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll grant you your wish.”
I gently traced Kieran’s outline in the photo with my finger, then noticed something sticking out from behind the frame. I took the wedding photo off the wall and found a hidden compartment.
I had never been able to understand why Kieran was so insecure around me. He was the pride of the pack.
Back home, I stared blankly at the wedding photo on the wall.
