The streetlights started to come on.
Everything that got auctioned at the Glory Auction House was top- notch.
When Cristofer and Latoya walked in, all the ladies in the room couldn’t help but look at Latoya with envy.
Latoya looked stunning tonight. She was dressed in a red limited- edition dress from Valentino, and her ears were adorned with bright, sparkling diamond earrings. She looked like she was straight out of a fairy tale, glammed up and glowing.
Seeing all those envious eyes, she felt proud and held her head even higher.
She was the only girl Cristofer ever brought out in public.
Maryanne was his wife, but he didn’t love her and had never taken her out in public. Thinking about that, Latoya felt even more smug. She greeted the people around her with a big smile and lots of charm.
Cristofer’s arrival made a huge buzz in the auction house, but he kept his eyes forward and led Latoya straight in.
He was the VIP here, and he had got the best seat in the front row. But when he and Latoya sat down, he saw the seat next to them. Whoever got to sit in front of him must be even more high–up than he was.
He turned to his friend Esteban Hurley and asked, “Who’s the guest sitting next to us?”

The auction house belonged to Esteban.
Esteban had striking features, with long hair that fell to his ears and was a bit wavy. He looked like a prince straight out of a comic book, laid–back and rebellious.
Compared to Cristofer, who was more cool and aloof, he looked like a pretty boy.
He grinned and said with a sly smile, “I’m curious too. My dad arranged this. He said it’s his most important guest.”
Cristofer furrowed his brows, raising an eyebrow. His eyes were cold and sharp. This most important guest must be after the purple diamond
too.
He wondered which big shot it could be.
Latoya was also curious about who this guest was.
The fancy seats in the auction house were filling up.
But the seat for the most important guest was still empty.
The auctioneer was already on stage, and the first item to be auctioned was being brought up by security guards.
Everyone was there for the purple diamond.
Meanwhile, a thin figure walked in through a side door.
Maryanne had timed her arrival perfectly. She hated crowded places, but Theron wanted that purple diamond.
As soon as she walked in, everyone turned to look at her. Her face was so bright and eye–catching that it was hard to miss.

She quickly scanned the room. Everyone there was a big shot from Summerville. It seemed like there was more to the purple diamond than she knew.
Cristofer noticed Maryanne immediately. She was wearing a black dress that showed off her pretty collarbones. Her skin was fair and smooth. She didn’t wear dresses often, but he knew she looked amazing in anything. Right now, she was stealing the show.
When Latoya saw Maryanne, her eyes flashed with irritation. She thought Maryanne wouldn’t quit and had tracked them all the way here.
“Cris, it seems like Ms. Nelson still has a thing for you. Look, there she is.”
Cristofer, with his sharp features and a posture that was both arrogant and relaxed, pursed his lips and stayed silent.
This wasn’t a place anyone could get into. Thinking about how Maryanne had been picked up by a luxury car, he felt a surge of anger. She had only been gone for a month, and she had already moved on.
Maryanne walked straight to the first seat without even looking at Cristofer and sat down.

Latoya’s eyes widened in shock. The most important guest was Maryanne?!
Cristofer was taken aback, his intense gaze like he was barely holding back something. He glanced coldly at Maryanne. So she was the most important guest.

As Cristofer’s good buddy, Esteban knew Maryanne and what was up with them. Now that they were divorced and Cristofer had got a new gal, it didn’t faze him one bit.
Cristofer had always been the type to switch up his ladies like he flipped channels. Usually, they didn’t stick around longer than three months.
The fact that he and Maryanne lasted four years almost made Esteban think he was in it for real.
But Maryanne looked more dazzling than ever, and that got Esteban’s attention. He glanced at her profile. She didn’t seem as quiet and reserved as everyone said.
Cristofer’s voice was low and cool. “Maryanne, you really think you have the right to sit here?”
