Her abrupt shift in demeanor caught Turner off guard.
Just moments ago, she had been as docile as a kitten, and now, in the blink of an eye, she was baring her claws at him. Oddly enough. Turner found this side of her even more intriguing.
Turner stood up, his tall and imposing figure casting a shadow that completely enveloped Lucy.
Lucy disliked the overwhelming sense of pressure and instinctively took a step back.
But as if deliberately teasing her, Turner closed the distance with every step she retreated. “What are you afraid of?” he asked, his voice low and teasing

Turner sneered. “Not too close, huh? Funny because I distinctly remember how tightly you clung to that guy’s waist back in Eastville.” His words carried a sharp edge of jealousy, leaving Lucy stunned. She stared at him in disbelief, and for a brief moment, their eyes met. In Turner’s gaze, she thought she caught a flicker of accusation.

But now, standing face to face with Turner, she was completely at a loss. Just as her mind raced for a way out, a sudden, urgent knock on the door broke the tension.
The loud hanging on the door reverberated through the hallway, accompanied by Daniel’s frantic shout, “Lucy! Are you in there? Did that bastard hurt you? Open the door!”
Hearing Daniel’s voice, Lucy shoved Turner aside in a panic and rushed to open the door.
Daniel stood outside, his face tight with worry. When he saw Lacy, he grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the room, examining her from head to toe. “Lucy, are you okay? Did he do anything to you?” he asked with concern.

Turner’s cold voice rang out from behind. “Lucy”
Laury’s heart skipped a beat. A pang of guilt tagged at her, but she pushed it aside, forcing herself to keep walking as if she hadn’t heard him.
Before she could take another step. Turner grabbed her wrist. “A top graduate from Sancho University of Science and Technology. reduced to hanging around with someone like him? Really, Lucy?”
Daniel bristled at the insult, stepping forward with a glare. “Someone like me? What’s that supposed to mean? I’m Lucy’s boyfriend. Whatever’s between us is none of your business!”
Turner’s sharp gaze shifted to Lucy. “He’s your boyfriend?
Lucy hesitated, her mind racing. After a brief pause, she nodded. “Yes, he’s my boyfriend. Now let go of me.”
Instead of letting go. Turner tightened his grip, a mocking smile curling on his lips. “Your boyfriend, hule? Then why did crying to me when he had you pouring drinks for him?”
“That’s not your concern, Lucy snapped, yanking her hand free with all her strength.
“Lucy, Turner said coldly.
Lucy took a deep breath, as if she made up her mind. “You don’t believe me? Fine, I’ll prove it to you.”

Without warning, she grabbed Daniel by the collar. Her heart pounded as she stood on her tiptoes. She leaned in close, their faces mere inches apart.
Daniel’s eyes widened in shock, his body stiffening as he froze on the spot. He was completely caught off guard.
From Turner’s angle, it looked as though Lucy had kissed Daniel. His fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
Lucy stepped back, her expression calm as she turned to face Turner. “Now do you believe me?” she asked.
Turner’s face darkened instantly. His jaw tightened as he glared at her with fury and disbelief.
Avoiding his burning gaze, Lucy grabbed Daniel’s hand and strade away.
Tumer’s eyes followed their intertwined hands, his chest heaving with barely contained rage. With a load crash, his fist slammed into the door. “Lucy, you’re really something else he growled.
Daniel rode his motorcycle, his lips pressed into a tight line and his face dark with frustration.
Just moments ago, it laad looked like Lucy kissed him, but in reality, their lips never even touched.
It was clear that Lucy was using him as a pawn to provoke Turner earlier.

if Lucy wanted to head back to campus, he drove straight to a bar and parked right at the entrance,
Once off the motorcycle, he grabbed Lucy’s arm and dragged her inside without giving her a chance to resist.
Inside, the bar was a chaotic mix of flashing lights and rock music, with men and women dancing wildly to the beat.
Daniel shoved Lucy onto a couch in a dimly lit corner and leaned in close.
