Chapter 175
Giovani noticed the sadness in Camila’s eyes. He frowned slightly, crouched down, and said softly. “You’ve been walking for so long Your legs must be hurting. Come on, I’ll carry you.”
Those words nearly brought Camila to tears.
Her limp was obvious to anyone, yet after her release from prison, her family had never asked if her legs hurt or sought medical help for her.
Even her own brother, Harry, had mocked her for faking her limp on the day she was released.
Only the Campbells had truly cared for her. Lindsey had hired a professional masseuse to give her daily massages to ease her discomfort.
Keira prepared nourishing herbal meals for her every day, ensuring she never missed a single meal.
And now, even Giovani was showing such thoughtful concern for her. This warmth softened Camila’s heart completely, making her nose tingle and her eyes turn red.
She whispered, “Mr. Campbell, 1-
Giovani gently interrupted her, his voice soft yet firm. “No need to say anything. Just get on
Camila hesitated for a moment but eventually leaned onto his broad back.
Giovani lifted her effortlessly and began walking forward, step by step
His back was broad and solid, like a warm harbor, giving Camila a sense of security she’d never felt before.
Neither of them spoke. Camila caught the faint scent of cedarwood from Glovani–a cool, elegant fragrance that was incredibly soothing.
As Camila breathed in his scent, all of her worries seemed to fade away. Her eyelids grew heavy, and she slowly closed her eyes, Giovani walked for a long time, and Camila remained silent. He could feel her breathing becoming steady and her body gradually relaxing.
By the time Sean pulled up in the Rolls–Royce and parked in front of Giovani, Camila had already fallen asleep peacefully on his back. Giovani carefully placed her in the back seat, adjusting her position with utmost care, afraid to wake her.
The next day, the sun was shining brightly. It was Lucy’s birthday, and Camila and Hazel got into Giovani’s car early in the morning. heading to the Reagon Hotel
The Reagon Hotel was the most luxurious hotel in all of Sancho, renowned for its stunning architecture and opulent interior design. When they arrived, Giovani turned to Camila and said, “Carnila, you and Hazel go ahead to Room 101, 1have a client meeting here, and I’ll join you once I’m done.”
Camila nodded with a smile. “Mr. Campbell, go ahead and take care of your business–Hazel and I will wait for you in Room 101” With that, they temporarily parted ways, each heading in a different direction.
A friendly server led Camila and Hazel down a plush carpeted hallway, guiding them to Room 101,
When they opened the door to the room, the sight before them left them both speechless.
In the center of the room was a massive round table made of polished redwood, its surface gleaming like a mirror under the soft lighting.
The table was adorned with exquisite tableware and vibrant fresh flowers, every detail exuding elegance and sophistication.
Renowned paintings hung on the walls, adding a rich artistic ambiance to the room.
Above them, a grand crystal chandelier cast a warm, golden glow, making the room feel like a palace. Neither Camila nor Hazel had ever seen such luxury before.
Chapter 173
Hazel felt overwhelmed. Even though she had worked for the Jackson family for years and was used to their fancy villa, she had never encountered a dining room this luxurious.
She hesitated and said shyly. This place is so beautiful. I feel like I don’t even dare to sit down.”
Camila chuckled softly and reassured her, “Don’t worry, Hazel. Mr. Campbell arranged this for us–let’s just relax and enjoy it.”
Truthfully, Camila felt the same way. If it weren’t for Giovani, she doubted she’d ever have the chance to step into such a high–end place in her entire life. Carefully, Camila and Hazel took their seats, waiting quietly for Giovani to arrive.
About five minutes had passed when hurried footsteps and lively chatter suddenly echoed from outside the room.
“Did George say it was Room 101 or 107?*
“Obviously 101. George isn’t just anyone now. He landed a sales manager position at the Campbell Group right after graduation–talk about impressive!”
“Oh my, the Campbell Group. It’s one of the top–tier companies in Laystoland, and now they’ve expanded to Sancho. For George to snag a managerial role there, that’s seriously something.”
I always knew back in high school that George was destined for big things. Not only is he good–looking, but he’s got the brains and skills to match.”
“Exactly. He even managed to get the super VIP room at Reagon Hotel opened for him. That just shows how much Mr. Campbell values him
“Totally. We’re lucky to be riding on George’s coattails. Otherwise, we’d never set foot in a place like this, not even in a lifetime of hard
work.
As they spoke, the door to Room 101 was pushed open, and a group of men and women streamed in one after another.
The men were dressed in a mix of suits and casual attire, all well–fitted and exuding confidence.
Gold chains and flashy watches adorned them. Their hair was slicked back with so much gel that it gleamed like polished glass.
The women, on the other hand, were dressed in trendy, revealing outfits, with bare shoulders and faces heavily layered with makeup.
As soon as they entered, a strong wave of mixed perfumes hit the room. A blend of various brands created an overwhelming, almost suffocating scent, making Camila feel dizzy.
Camila stared at them in bewilderment, completely at a loss as to why this group had suddenly appeared in the room she had reserved.
It was clear that the group was equally surprised to see Camila and an elderly woman in the room. They froze for a moment, caught off guard.
After a brief pause, a woman in a red dress sneered, breaking the silence. “Camila, what are you doing here? Last night at the restaurant, You said
you were too busy to come, yet here you are, arriving even earlier than us.”
This red–dressed woman was one of the people who had mocked Camila in the restroom the previous night.
As soon as she finished, a woman in a yellow dress chimed in, her tone dripping with disdain. “Guess she wanted to come desperately but just liked to act all high and mighty. She probably pretends to be too good for this.
“Now that she knows George is hosting a class reunion at Reagon Hotel, she can’t wait to show up. She rolled her eyes at Camila, showing clear contempt.
The other women, catching on, began looking at Camila with sneers and scorn.
The men, however, couldn’t hide their amazement when they saw Camila.
Back in high school, Camila had been the most beautiful girl in their class. Even though she had been thin and frail, with dry, brittle hair, her stunning features had always stood out.
Camila had a striking beauty that made her impossible to ignore in any crowd. After months of careful care, her figure had filled out, her complexion had become radiant, and her skin now glowed with a healthy, rosy hue.
Her long hair, untouched by dye or perm, cascaded down her shoulders like silk. She wore no jewelry and only a light touch of makeup, yet her beauty was breathtaking, commanding everyone’s attention.
Chapter 175
“Camila, you look even more gorgeous than you did in high school,” a guy remarked.
“What’s the point of being pretty? She’s still got a criminal record, another guy commented.
“Come on, she’s a woman. Criminal record or not, even if she were a fool or a beggar, there’d still be men willing to take her in. Am I right?” a third one chimed in.
Suddenly, a shrill burst of laughter rang out in the room.

Chapter 176
Hazel furious at their constant insults toward Camila, jumped to her feet and shouted, “Get out! You’re not welcome here!”
The laughter gradually died down as everyone turned to Hazel, their faces full of disdain.
“Who do you think you are to kick us out? The Reagon Hotel’s super VIP room isn’t even open to the public. I don’t think two nobodies like you could afford to dine here”
“Know your place. In high school, Camila was penniless. She could only drink cold water to fill her stomach while we ate in the cafeteria. We offered her leftovers, but she acted too proud to accept. She’s the most pretentious person I’ve ever seen.
“We’ve always known what kind of person she is. Now she’s pretending to be rich? Pathetic!” someone spat, their tone dripping with contempt.
you’re about. Stop pretending to
“Camila, if you’re here to cozy up to George, just admit it. We’re all classmates–we know exactly what yo be some kind of saint when we all know the truth.”
“What’s the point of being a top student if your character is rotten? Look at you now–an ex–convict trying to act all dignified. It’s Jaughable.”
Their insults buzzed around Camila like a swarm of flies, relentless and grating. As they spoke, they swaggered over to the table and casually took seats as if they owned the place.
One of them slid into the seat next to Camila, his hand landing on her shoulder.
His smug smile made her skin crawl as he said, “Come on, tell me what you want. I’ll treat you. Guess you can’t afford a meal. Fresh out of prison, huh? Bet you’ve never tasted anything decent.”
Camila yanked her arm free with a sharp motion, her voice cold and cutting “Show some respect!”
Charlie Chapman, the man in the suit, flushed with embarrassment as the crowd watched him lose face. His expression turned sour, a mix of anger and humiliation.
He shot to his feet, jabbing a stubby finger toward Camila’s face, his voice booming with rage. “Camila, don’t you dare act so ungrateful! Let me tell you, if you miss this chance today, you’ll never set foot in Reagon Hotel again.”
The others quickly chimed in, their voices rising in a chorus of mockery.
“Exactly! Charlie’s being generous enough to treat you, and you’re acting all high and mighty? Seriously, who do you
think
you are!”
“Back in high school, Charlie might’ve been at the bottom of the class, but now he’s rolling in cash as a construction foreman. He’s doing way better than any of us here”
Charlie, enjoying the flattery, puffed up like a peacock. He rolled up his sleeves and waved his hands in front of Camila, showing off his expensive watch that sparkled brightly under the lights.
Not stopping there, he pulled out a high–end smartphone and a BMW car key from his pocket, slamming them onto the table with a loud bang. His smug expression dared anyone to challenge his success.
Hazel stared at the scene, her face frozen. She winced internally at his show–off behavior.
Camila’s face twisted in disgust, her brow furrowing deeply. She had no intention of explaining herself to this group of airheads. She knew full well that even if she did, they wouldn’t believe her. They’d just accuse her of putting on an act again
Without a word, she pulled out her phone, intending to call Giovaní. But the moment her phone appeared, the room erupted in mocking laughter
“See! Told you she’s broke. Can’t even afford a better phone, yet she’s claiming she reserved this VIP room, someone sneered. “Who uses such a lame phone these days! Our phones are worth thousands each, another chimed in. On cue, everyone pulled out t phones, each one showing off the latest smartphone model like it was a trophy.
their
Camila paid no attention to their aunts. She unlocked her phone, opened her contacts, and saw Giovani’s number–the first number pinned at the top
Just as her finger hovered over the call button, Charlie suddenly snatched the phone from her hand. With a smug grin, he raised it high and slammed it onto the ground with a loud, deliberate motion
