hapter 131 I was raised by a frustrated woman along with five other girls.. We were raised in a Pack called the Red–Eyes. It was far away from civilization and far away from the rest of the world. Surrounded by towering mountains and dense forest, it was almost untouched. Red–Eyes Pack only had relations with a few other packs surrounding us. Right in the middle of the pack, we were raised to be a lot of things. Except for being a mate. Instead, each year, one girl is given out in marriage to a man and this year, it was my turn. We were told the idea of finding your mate was outdated and unrealistic. It is better to find happiness in whoever you’re betrothed to. “I know you’re probably very excited” My sister, Ella, whispered into my car as we walked along the road with the basket of fruit I would drop off at my betrothed’s place. “Yes, I am.” I laugh through the uneasy feeling in my heart. Chapter 129 Darius‘ POV I made a promise to Angela FIVE years ago when our twins were born to keep looking for our daughter and five years later, I still kept that promise Looking back, I’d never imagined I would look for Reina this long. As each year passed, Angela and I kept on wondering what our baby girl would look like. We knew she was still alive out there somewhere, we just didn’t know where. I’d sent out letters, emails, and calls to various packs together with her picture but nothing had come back positive about it. Instead, we’ve received our fair share of prank calls, fake messages, and sometimes even locations. All of which turned out to be lies but that didn’t stop us. Instead, it motivated us to keep going. Chapter 128  Angela’s POV “I’ll be back,” An hour ago, Darius kissed my hair and walked out of the artist’s studio that I’d been cooped in for the past few weeks. Those have been Darius frequent words. He’ll be back! At first. I had hoped that Darius would one day come back home with Reina but as FIVE MONTHS passed, I began to lose up Yeah! It’s been five months since I lost my child, my best friend, and the bigger part of my soul, Reina. My life hasn’t been the same. I lived as though I wouldn’t make it till morning but every single time I open my eyes to the sunshine, tears spill from them. Some nights, I couldn’t even bring myself to sleep. Different thoughts kept on coming to my head. A part of me wanted to mourn Reina especially after they came back to the pack with her clothes. I kept on painting, just anything that came to my mind. It was the only thing that made sense to me. It was the only time I felt a bit alive. I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror twice. I was torn beyond repair The disappearance of our daughter had created a small rift between both Darius and me. He was always out, looking for her. He said he wouldn’t give up, no matter what and he would never stop searching. He was keeping up with the affairs of the pack as well as looking for Reina. I knew it was pretty hard on him but I couldn’t tell him to stop searching for her. I was too selfish to do that. Darius came back with nothing other than the necklace he gave to Reina. The same one I had a similar type. It was found just a few steps away from my mom’s place, behind the flowers. Darius checked his computer to see if Reina pressed the button since he hadn’t received any notification on his phone but he found nothing. She knew she was supposed to press that button if she was in danger. Why didn’t she? Why was the necklace found a few meters away from my mom’s place? Was she going there to my mom’s? Why would she go out of the house at night Wasn’t she sleeping? A thousand and one questions ran through my head but I couldn’t find an answer for it. They in tried tracing her scent but the rain had already washed it away. Not even her footsteps could be seen on the ground. My mom came over to me that night and I cried on her shoulder, Darius went back out and only came back the following morning. He’d reached out to Mason and asked if he saw Reina before leaving that night or maybe he’d mistakenly left with Reina but he was as surprised as we were that Reina was missing. “Angela,” Someone called my name. I pushed my thoughts to the back of my head and turned to Halle, I was at the hospital for a checkup. It’s been two weeks since I felt normal. I couldn’t gather the strength to visit the hospital and get checked out but for the sake of the twins, I had to pull myself together. Chapter 127 Halle helped me down from the bed once she was done with the sonography. She’d called me earlier and encouraged me to come for my checkup Her words gave me the strength I needed. “Your twins are doing just fine, Angela. But you’re not in a good condition and it could end up affecting the twins in the long run “What do you want me to do, Halle? Act as though everything is normal. Am I supposed to move on just like that! My daughter is still missing” 1 cried. I know how painful it is, Angela but for the sake of these babies you have to pull yourself together,” She advised. I knew she was right. In fact, she was very right but I just couldn’t take my mind off it Reina was out there in danger or hurt and I didn’t even know what to do to help her. How could she disappear from the house without a trace? A lot of pack members were beginning to ask me if she was acting differently before she disappeared. How could they insinuate something was wrong with my daughter and I didn’t notice it? How could they look me in the eyes and tell me I was a terrible mother? Halle didn’t say anything else. She forced me to drink water and eat some fruit before I left the hospital. She promised to come over to my place that night to see me like she’d done for the past few days. Once I got home, Darius and the rest of the guys who went in search of Reina were back. Darius walked up to me. I stared at his hands and saw he was holding Reina’s favorite pajamas, the same one she wore on the night she went missing. “We found this at a Riverbank but fortunately, there was no blood on it and we also canvassed the river, but there was no sign of her,” I sucked in a deep breath before tears fell down my eyes. That means it’s possible she’s alive somewhere,” He nodded before cleaning my tears. Tm holding on to that. She has to stay alive until I find her and I’ll find her very soon,” I placed my head on his chest and he kissed my hair. “Have you heard back from Mason?” Mason was supposed to help us find her in his own way. “He’s still walking through dreams. He said he’s walked through about a hundred and he still has not found her yet but I’m hoping he’ll find her soon. I was also holding on to that faith.  

Chapter 126  Darius POV I stared at my phone ringing for the fifth time within two hours and I ignored it as usual. It was the same ‘uncle‘ I didn’t know I had for all the years of my life that was calling. His calls had been persistent for the past two weeks, threatening me to release my father to him. I’d tried looking into him but nothing came up. He was just an irrelevant asshole who thought he could decide the fate of my father’s life if he threatened me. I’d tried looking for a way to find out how my father reached out to him but it was all dead–end. My investigations are closing in and It still yielded nothing. I interrogated my father to see if he would tell me anything but nothing tangible came out of him. He was only rambling on and on like he’d lost his mind. I knew it was an act. which I refused to read. My phone began ringing again and I ignored it. I also got a text message from him w My door opened all of a sudden, pulling my eyes away from the screen and pulling me out of my deep thoughts. “Mason. Learn to knock! Is that too much to ask for?” He shrugged. “Maybe,” 1 shook my head. It was useless asking him to do something over and over again. It was like trying to break through an old habit. That shit is difficult. “I’m leaving tonight within a few hours.” 1 scoffed. “Should I take you for your word! You’ve been saying you were leaving for a long time now and you still end up coming back here,” our pack. We’re moving in fully by morning tomorrow “Don’t blame me. Your pack is like a solitude to me. We finally completed some buildings in o which means my duty as their Alpha begins, “That’s true. Don’t miss me too much,” I grinned.
