Chapter 121  Angela’s POV The following morning. I woke up with a terrible headache. It was the light streaming in from the window through the curtains that got me on my feet. I dragged the curtains closed to block the sun from penetrating into the room. What room? Whose room? It took my brain a few seconds to comprehend where I was. I closed my eyes for a little while then opened it back to take in my surroundings. I was in a room I hadn’t been in before. I didn’t know where I was The room was painted black and the furniture was black and also expensive. Chapter 120  Angela’s POV After what Mason told me, my spirit went down and I suddenly felt cold. He’d left minutes ago and I’d returned to the house to find Reina staring into space. I asked her what went wrong and she said, someone or something was hurt. I asked her what it was and she told me I smelled different. She went back to her toys and continued staking them up. She didn’t bother telling me more or even sparing me a glance. I returned to Brittany’s room that I had been using and laid on the bed. Each time Mason’s words came back to me, I would take a deep breath and pull at my hair. How was I supposed to help Krina when I was as clueless as a goldfish? I didn’t even know what gift she had until a few days ago. Now, we have to keep it a secret and make Reina keep it a secret as well. The thought of asking Reina to do such a thing made me sick. Won’t it be too much of a burden for a child? She was just six years old! 8 Chapter 118 Angela’s POV Once Darius kissed me again, I knew it was over. There was no way I would be able to stop my deepest desires from taking over. I threw my arms around his neck and moved my body closer to him. He grabbed my thighs and lifted me up. I quickly wrapped my legs around his waist as he pressed me down into the bed, his weight shifting in the process so it wouldn’t be too much on me. He was bigger than me, almost three times my size and how he melts every time to the touch of my finger marvels me. Chapter 115  Angela’s POV The worst thing to prepare for is burying a loved one. I was just a wolf in my twenties, trying to navigate through the werewolf life and the human world. I didn’t have much experience but I knew how painful and joyful it was to bring life to this world. Trust me, nothing prepares a creature for the funeral of another life. It was as though something heavy was placed on my shoulder. Life became bitter and my heart ached at every passing moment. I took a deep breath as I stared at the paper in front of me. I was trying to write down some things I believe we would need for Brit’s funeral but I couldn’t bring myself to write anything. Instead of ink on that paper, it was filled with tears. Reina ran down the stairs and I quickly cleaned my eyes before she noticed something was wrong. “Be careful, babes. Don’t trip on that floor. The floor is still wet,” I screamed behind her. She turned to look at me, smiled sheepishly, and began walking carefully. Chapter 114 Angela’s POV I didn’t return home that night. I waited till morning to leave my mom’s side. She hadn’t eaten since Brittany took her last breath at the hospital and I was determined to help put her back together. I had to move in with her. I was all she had. It would be bad if I turned my back on her. I would give it two days before I move in with her for a while. As I arrived at home, I saw Mason and Velicia in the kitchen. She was busy making breakfast while Mason laughed at something she said. I was like a stranger in a place I’d turned to home. They both turned to look at me and before they could say a word, I walked away. I entered Reina’s room to see Darius helping her get ready. I took Reina from his hand without a prior warning and put her on the bed. I smiled at her. “Morning mama,” she said cheekily “Morning babes. Slept well?” “Yes, mama,” “Good. Let’s get you ready to go see your grandma. She misses you and she wants to see you,” She smiled at me excitedly. “Yes, I can’t wait to see grandma. Can we wait till after breakfast? Daddy’s girlfriend is making breakfast,” Daddy’s girlfriend? “I didn’t know your daddy had a girlfriend,” “She’s pretty, isn’t she?” She asked me. I looked around to see Reina sitting at the dining table, staring at the meals while salivating. “Reina, let’s go,” She turned to me. I was expecting her to look at me disappointedly but instead, she smiled as if she understood. “Okay, mama,” Velicia and Mason came out of the kitchen. “At least you guys should have breakfast before leaving,” Velicia suggested. “We’re not hungry, thank you,” Mason pointed to Reina. “I think that little princess is hungry, Angela, right baby?” Reina shook her head. “I’m not hungry, Uncle Mason,” she replied. Chapter 113 Angela’s POV I watched as Darius and Grace hugged each other for a few seconds before they separated. I could feel a pang of jealousy surge through my chest. She had a huge smile on her face and she looked as though she was very happy to see Darius. “It’s been a while, Alpha Darius,” Darius nodded. “It’s good to see you, Velicia,” Darius returned to my side and hugged me, folding his hand against my back. I untangled myself from me once Mason and Velicia walked away to one of the rooms. “Who’s that?” I asked Darius. 2 A few minutes earlier. I stood right outside Angela’s mom’s home and kept staring at the front door as if I was waiting for something to bring Reina out of the house. She had insisted on going over to her place this afternoon and not even a powerful alpha could find the heart to say no to my little princess. I knew the woman was grieving, she was sad about the death of her daughter. I didn’t want Reina to go over there and in one way or another, stress her but when Reina started crying, I threw the caution into the air and allowed her to do as she wanted. Now it was time to get her. I’d just left Ryker at the gates after he had the audacity to tell me Angela was missing. First off, I wanted to get Reina settled in for the night before I drove out to go look for her. Right as I stood out there, Alpha Reign had sent out some men to look for Angela. A familiar face walked past me and I quickly stopped her. “Tell Reina I’m waiting out here,” I instructed. “Yes, Alpha,” she walked into the house. Quite a few number of people were together with the woman in the house and it wouldn’t be a bad idea if I said hello to her but my guilt wouldn’t let me. How was I supposed to tell it to her face that Angela was still missing despite having just lost a child? Moreover, I didn’t want to go in there and say the wrong thing. We walked into the house and she ran up to her room first. I had to put her bag on the dining table where I could see it and not have a repeat of what happened in the morning. It took us several minutes to find that bag because Reina believed she gave it to me and I believed she didn’t. `It caused a little bit of argument but it all went back to normal after we found the bag lying on the sofa in her room hiding under the pile of clothes I’d thrown there. I followed her. She had her bathroom door locked. “Let me know when you’re ready to take a bath,” I yelled out. “I need a new towel,” she demanded. I grunted. She was already having her bath and busy commanding as usual. I loved it. “Yes ma’am,” I heard her giggling in the bathroom before I left. That brought a tiny smile to my face. Angela and Reina were like light to my darkness. They came into my life with so much brightness that shone further than the sun. I didn’t know how much I needed them until they came to me. I went through the rack of clean clothes in the laundry room to find a towel but found nothing. It was when I opened one drawer that I saw towels neatly arranged. I picked one and left.
